I think there was one shot from Fuller, which brought out a good save from the keeper. And there was Whelan's goal. I don't recall another 98 shots. If there were none of them were on target

Slangking were you there? 100's of shots that stayed out? There was nothing off the post or bar, no goal mouth clearances, no fantastic saves! Lots of pressure yes but no really good on target shots Griff summed it for me in the last few minutes, he found himself in front of goal with a great chance to tuck it away and did not have a fucking clue what to do with the ball.

We battered them in the second half because they decided to sit back and soak it up after taking a two goal lead. Yes, we pumped the ball into the box a lot, we put them under pressure and they put almost everyone back behind the ball.......but with Mama and Ameobi up front, we hardly had a cutting edge to exploit the pressure did we? The threat we carried was greatly increased when Fuller came on......so why the fuck did he not start? Why is Pugh playing at left back, while Griffin is having shockers at right back? I havn't been one of the constantly whinging Pulis haters, in fact this is really the first time this season I have said a bad word about the guy, but I absolutely agree with Jezza on tonights performance. Pulis needs to wake up and smell the coffee before all the last two seasons hard work are pissed up the wall for fuck all. Have to agree with the spirit of your post mate, it's at times like these when a really good manager comes into his own. It's clear that Pulis lacks the skill to MANAGE the players in a crisis. Meanwhile tonight's winning manager has 6 promotions on his record, kinda sums it up for me. I agree that we looked far more dangerous when Fuller came on and Shola perked up as a result. I don't think our players are shite, to get we are are now we have to have had some quality. I think the biggest problem is our failure to think clearly under pressure and that I'm afraid, is the responsibility of the manager. I t appears he's failing.

He gets paid handsomely to pick the team and dictate tactics -both were so badly wide of the mark tonight it was untrue. He then says we were unlucky!!!
If I did my job that badly, I'd be lucky not to be sacked.

From what I saw they did. We missed free headers galore have 2 shots on target and get out muscled, battled and played.

jezza, spot on! When I heard the team selection my heart sank! Why no Dicko, what does he see in Pugh as a left back? Im more than bemused, when you need goals with 5 games left to get you where every team wants to be, and its at your mercy, do you play a striker with one goal in 30 odd games and leave the teams talisman sucking his thumb on the bench!! And virus my arse. Fuller was raring to go. Total balls up and hasn't the guts to admit he got it wrong. Lawrence's injury fair enough, can't help that but look at Gally, not even on the bench because of the 5 loanee rule so why not gamble and bring Simmo back (lets face it Nash hasn't been that much better) and put Gally in the 16 to give us more options. Cressy/Gally who would you pick to play wide? We missed an amazing opportunity tonight, and as much as I love this club it doesn't look good does it, 1 win in 8 with 4 to go and I hope to god I'm wrong. People will say I'm being negative, no , just realistic.

I reckon every time we concede a goal we should change manager, after all if I fuck up in my job they would sack me. Also every time our goalie lets one in we should sack him and get a new one in, it is his job to stop the ball, if I fucked up like that i'd be sacked so get rid I say.

;D I was saying sack him before the start as I knew with that team we'd lose. I was only jesting mind. But as soon as I saw that team I knew we'd lose.

that team selection looked like if were playing the 1st round of the league cup against a 2nd div side and we were resting players for a league game on Saturday.
I know wilko is injured but why is dicko not playing in front of pugh, he gives his heart and sole for stoke, sinclair would have not tried as hard is dicko had got a good tackle in at the start like his debut against sheff utd with paul iffil, he stayed away from dicko for the rest of the match.

Fuller unfit?
Noone on either side could get near the man. He came on cold (after 5 mins of being stripped and not sent on!) into a full-blooded Championship match and was head and shoulders above everyone else on the park - if that match had been another 45 minutes long he would have still been doing ten times the work Sidibe does and we would have won!
TP should have told him to get out there, play the 90 and win us the game as he is the best player in the league. Is he scared of upsetting him or offering some tough love?

If what happened tonight was luck, how come so many people on here predicted our "bad luck" several days ago and how come the first goal tonight was a carbon copy of "unlucky" goals we've been conceding all season?

The only Bollocks is what your talking, We were unlucky we completely battered them in the second half, Sidebe was unlucky with his header. Fuller was not fit due to having a virus. All in all your comments are unthought out and unfair. Battered them? The only decent shot we had we scored from. How can Cresswell be selected and Bothroyd left on the bench? MOTM? You are joking! We huffed and puffed but we were not strong enough and that is hard to take considering we are aiming for a top 2 finish. SGS

I am afraid I was another who delivered a volley of abuse at the radio when he started whinging about bad luck.
If you stand off players on the edge of the box and let them have a free swing at goal, like we have done for weeks, eventually someone will connect properly and it will fly into the corner, like tonight.
Would it have been so difficult for him to agree with Nige that we weren't very good in the first half?
Yes we were much better in the 2nd half. Yes we huffed and puffed and hit and hoped while only forcing their keeper into 1 notable save, but in the 1st half we really were timid.

TP: "chances like that were going in two weeks ago" Like fuck they were!! We must have played a lot of games in the last two weeks then Tone, considering we have the worst scoring record in the division over the last eight games.

Wasn't there a degree of luck in Cresswell's goal against Sheffield Wednesday? I doubt whether he could replicate that back heel flick nine times out of 10.
But that is what you get from Teflon Tone.

Wow!....there are people on here who think we were unlucky!....Palace played all the football, created the best chances and won the game comfortably...thats the facts...accept it. We are currently nowhere near good enough to win crucial games....the stats of the last 5 games dont lie.

pulis bottled it. ameobi and sidibe 2 pantomime horses. bothroyd, fuller, gallagher or cresswell could have been up front. i would also have had riggot right back and shawcross in the middle. dickinso left back with pugh in the middle. going up my arse and when we dont go and hoofball somewhere else.

'Shots on goal'? You mean ONE genuine chance and a bunch of goalmouth scrambles on the end of hopeful punts and torpedo throws. This stone age football has been found out. With the talent we have in the squad, it needs to change. Now.
