A bad habit I have picked up is soon as we score is that I jump around like a Kangaroo on acid then look to my left to watch the replay on the big screen in the corner, I noticed on Saturday as soon as we score or even the opposition they have started to flash up a message to remain seated and think of your fellow supporters view before flicking back to the action to show what is left of the replay, now I know there has been some debate over our unfortunate disabled comrades view during the game but Christ on a bike........
REMAIN SEATED after a goal, are they really trying to sanitize the sport to that degree, get a grip Stoke what would you prefer a polite crown green bowling style clap or continue with the excitement that has got us recognition in recent times.

I wish stoke would fuck off this all this shite.
Stoke bang on about the 12th man like it's going out of fashion, then remind everyone to please act like we're watching the fucking tennis.
Couple this with the wank stewarding situation- it's ridiculous.

Stoke seem to be amongst the worst in the division for making a big issue of this. I've been to several away games this season where sections of the home fans have been stood up all game and nothing has been said. I can certainly remember Sunderland fans doing so, and I recall a section of Man City fans standing up all game when we there last season too.

Just playing devils advocate here because i have no issue with people standing, as long as nobody around them has their enjoyment of the game affected, but maybe Stoke have had some kind of warning or threat from the police or council, whoever is responcible for the safety of the ground, in regards to standing?
They could be making an issue out of it because they dont want to incur fines or have areas of the ground closed becausde of it.
Just a thought!

Did you notice this after all 5 goals, or just after 1 of ours? Just wondering if the message just happened to be there as we scored? Could have been an advert there instead, if you catch my drift.

As above the message is played at various intervals throughout the game and just happened to be one when we scored, pure coincidence.

During the game thats a fair enough point but if they want to stop people celebrating goals they may as well dig the pitch up and turn it into a library. The disabled problem could be solved by raising the disabled areas by a couple of feet and then the only problem would be when the ignorant minority insist on standing directly in front of seated people for the last five or ten minutes of every home match, when they have NO INTENTION of leaving early

This is getting stupid. It's a natural reaction to jump up when we score and u can't expect people not to enjoy the moment. It's also a similar reaction to stand up when we are in the area or about to take a corner. As suggested the club need to move the disabled area to a higher area to avoid any issues. But then how do you get them to this point as pushing wheelchairs to the top of a stand is never easy? You could put them at the bottom of a stand couldn't you?
Again, another example of how badly setup our stadium is.

I noticed it was always there straight after a goal (and at other times).
What would be more appropriate (and useful) is a similar notice to appear about 10 mins from time to remind people to just get up and leave if they're leaving and not hang around in the aisles blocking views and causing grief.

Nope...It was seconds after each of the 5 goals....my reaction is always to look in the direction of the screen to see the re run of the goal, even the Sunderland goals were greeted with the same message.....no coincedence what so ever.

They are just making sure they are being seen to do something about complaints. How the hell will they enforce it straight after a goal? Does anyone actually think the club would try and ruin the atmosphere at the Brit? Another moan about nothing here I think.

I know what you are saying but this is a totally different issue, there are fors and againsts for the standing sitting argument but standing for seconds after a goal is scored in celebration...FFS lets get real Stoke

Have you bothered to read my reply? Do you honestly believe Stoke would want to dampen the atmosphere in the ground? You are moaning about a message that appears to show that Stoke are following the party line. Does anyone take any notice? Nah. People just moan for the sake of it on here just lately and I think this is one of those occasions. Just my opinion like. IT's ONLY A BLOODY MESSAGE FFS!

Not meaning to have a pop at you mate. A bit tired this mornin. lol. I just think it would only become a problem if they tried to enforce it. I just think they are doing their bit to keep the people that complained (quite rightly) happy. As has been said to raise the disabled bays is the best solution all round.

What a load! How are you suppose to celebrate while sitting in a seat? You either go crazy or don't react at all, there is no inbetween.

It will be a condition of the stadium safety certificate that the club do what they can to remind spectators that they should remain seated. Flashing a message on the screen isn't too intrusive as far as I am concerned - I hadn't even noticed they were doing it after goals were scored. However, I do wish the club showed the same enthusiasm for raising the height of the wheelchair bays to allow users to see the game, that they do for flashing messages on the big screen!

Health and safety rules in any workplace are getting stricter and beyond realism at times. I dont mind but I would be grateful if fans would jump up to celebrate a goal after it has been scored and not in anticipation of what might happen. The screen saying keep seated notice covers stoke city, but really the only time to stand and celebrate is for a minute after a goal.It takes a lot of self discipline to stay seated.

I sit in block 30 right in front of the disabled seating area and there is always argueing going on about people standing up and how its unfair on the wheelchair fans. Now I appreciate this to a degree but when everyone in front of you stands up are we to stay seated and miss the goals so the disabled people behind can see?
I aint payin £400 for a season ticket to be told to sit down when everyone in front of me is standing up so I miss everything.
Feel like im treading on eggshells all the time when I even think about standing.
