Bolton (MEGSON) and Newcastle (ALARDARSE) fans turned against their manager because they would not tolerate their 'style' of football. Now we seem to be going the same way if this messageboard is anything to go by.
But then, why should we put up with being tagged 'The new Wimbledon' if they won't?
I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head but I can see the fans' point of view.

Bolton were happy under Big Sam though? Success is what fans want, no matter what the style. Would Chelsea fans rather have 'boring' Mourinho back and be winning everything again? I reckon so.

I dont see the comparison between Allardyce who took them to cup finals and UEFA cup and Megson who nearly relegated Bolton.

Bolton fans are perfectly happy now though, and look at Bolton's passing stats. The average Bolton game is a veritable hoof-fest. They're winning though, so they're satisfied, as they were under Allardyce.

Both those teams had had recent sucess though.
Bolton have had many seasons in the prem played in major finals. Newcastle were a force under Keegan genuine title contenders finishing 2 nd when maybe they should have won.
We have spent 2 YES JUST 2 full seasons in the prem, yet some of the fickle fans on here have their sights set too high.
I do however have slight simpathy for the fans who lived through the 70's but I'm 39 and this is still beyond my wildest dreams.
Pulis is getting shit for making prem survival look easy!

They don't play a different style than they did under megson it's just that coyle has got them doing it more effectively.

Exactly Bolton are happy, yet they are in roughly the same position as us, their performance against us last month was as bad if not worse than last night or against Fulham yet they have been in the premier league for 10 years. Its called being realistic, something a lot of people on here carnt understand.

I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head *cough cough splutter* I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head The beginning of the end for Mr Anti Football. I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head Not at all. We're very grateful to COATES. It's the waster we don't care for. ;D I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head [Re: Has Peter Coates given up?]Let's hope so eh? He must be sick of Pulis wasting his cash. I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head [Re: TP out] And he's wasted tens of millions on shite signings, not to mention said shite's wages. And destroyed the club's reputation with prospective players so that no one with any flair will ever sign for us again. I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head Sickening behaviour by Pulis again. I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head The question is how long our support is prepared for the club to be demeaned by this garbage. I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head I'd get rid of Pulis and keep Fuller. ;D I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head Newcastle fans refused to tolerate this crap from Allardyce so why should we have to swallow it? I don't agree with the calls for Pulis's head Well, someone had to do it.

If it wasn't for Zubar from wolves with the mother of all back passes then there would be a few more and louder grumblings going on. One of the Bolton fans stopped going until Megson left, as soon as he had gone, he started going again... fickle or what ???

WFW (aka hudsongod, etc.) is as slippery as an eel. Every now and again he posts as Mr Reasonable, but this is simply a disguise for his rabid dislike of TP. He clearly still smarts over his early attempts to gain support for his wish to drive out the manager - characterised by the "red card" fiasco.
He keeps his head down for months on end waiting for contentious moments like the sale of Tuncay, which he knows will bring the wrist slashers out in droves. Then he pounces and tries once more to peddle his maniacal festering hatred of Tony Pulis. On this issue he is a zealot and will clearly not be happy until he fulfils his dream of driving out the manager.
Tony Pulis will eventually go, but let's hope it is not the result of the immoderate postings of people like waitingforwaddo who appears to have adopted the mantle of messiah with regard to the future of Stoke City.

You couldn't be more wrong fella. I got really excited about progress under Pulis this season. For example I thought it was a brave battling display at Old Trafford. So 'keeping my head down' is a blatant lie. I came on here with praise on many occasions. I like Wilson a lot and we'd started to really mix it up. The sale of Tuncay and search for more target men however appears to represent a reversion to the bad old one-dimensional days. But no, when the dust has settled I don't seriously want Pulis out. I want him to continue doing what he was doing earlier in the season. And I think you're living in nephylokokkugia if you think the maniacal views of a few fans are going to have any effect whatsoever on the manager's position. However, your insidious attempt to silence any criticism must not be allowed to prevail. You have your view, I have mine. 'Messiah'? Give over. It's a MESSAGEBOARD. That's what it's FOR. And if mine cause you so much pain I suggest you seek relief from your frustrations in the time-honoured way. By mounting Florence! ;D ;D ;D
