...than we did last-night. At least at Old Trafford we got on the scoresheet and Tuncay had a header he was unlucky with. And at Stamford Bridge we had 9 shots at goal and hit the cross-bar. It's something about trips to Anfield, we seem to show less ambition there than anywhere else in the league. In the previous 0-0 and 4-0 results we showed no ambition either.
It's frustrating, because I actually do think we've shown alot more ambition on the road this season, our wins at West Brom and Blackburn stand out as games we've attacked from the off, and our unfortunate defeat at Everton was another game we showed plenty of intent in.
As people have said in previous threads, we've shown we can beat Liverpool if we commit men forward and don't give their players time to dictate play, I know it's different at Anfield to when we played them at the Brit, but it's still largely the same group of players, there's no reason to suddenly fear them and back off them just because it's at a different stadium.
He should've fetched Ric on for Salif and gone 4-4-2 as soon as they scored, the 4-5-1 formation clearly wasn't working, it was just long balls to an isolated Carew with nobody running beyond the flick-ons he won.
A really really frustrating performance.
