In years to come if we make it to the promised land? You only qualify if you live over 30 miles away from Stoke and have no family members who support Stoke? ::

My mate who has supported more teams than Robbie Savage has played for. He said if stoke made the premiership he would get a season ticket. I would rather he didn't come anyway near to be honest.

I swapped my support from Everton to Stoke early in 1972 after becoming disillusioned coz my then hero Alan Ball had moved to Arsenal the previous month. (I was 9 at the time.)
Stoke were of course heading to Wembley a few months later but already looked like a good team to me. Does that make me a glory hunter?

stevetheboater, if you have put up with stoke for 36 years then there is no way that you are a glory hunter!

This is my first season in about 8 that I haven't gone to pretty much every home game, and it's just my frigging luck we're going up. And next year I won't be able to see us in the Prem, you just know we'll stay up for my final year at Uni then get relegated when I move back to Stoke. I won't care though, I'll still get my ST!

However the office manager at the courier company is from longton, used to go Stoke when he was a kid, but hasn't been in years , in a recent conversation with him, he didn't even know we were top, when I told him, he said he might go again if they go up , now he in my eyes may be stoke born and bred, but he'd still be a gloryhunter , having taken no interest in us for eons but suddenly turning up when we get to the prem

I've supported Stoke since getting into football 12 years ago. But I always lived in Newcastle-under-Lyme... which would actually make Newcastle Town FC my official local team.
Bear in mind that when I first started supporting Stoke, I didn't even know Newcastle Town existed as a football club.
So all things considered, does supporting Stoke make me a glory hunter? Discuss.

if we go up, I dont care if there are 28,000 bums on seats every week. Bums on seats are ultimately what will sustain and build on a Prem place!

Does it matter? Stoke needs as many as possible through the gates, especially with promotion on the cards. We should be encouraging people to start going, welcoming them at the Brit, not complain about them. Typical negative mentality of some Stokies, finding reasons to moan even when faced with success and the prospect of sharing that success with others!.

I admit I only get to a few games a year but I've seen us play at over 50 different grounds. I haven't lived in Stoke since 1986 but always go to the match when back home. I remember being scared witless at Highbury and White Hart Lane in the early eighties as there were very few Stokies there, we all kept stum and pretended we didn't know each other. I also remember the 8,000 crowds at the Vic, I was there. Next year should we go up I will be very pissed off if I can't get a ticket when I am home.

Lets get this straight the post was intended to see how many supporters we have who if we were a top prem team people would class as glory hunters. There is no chance that in this moment in time any Stoke supporter could be classed as a glory hunter. ;D

I was speaking to a pompey fan in a pub on holiday once explaining that I was a stoke fan and not one of the gloryhunting ones who'd only just started cos we were near the top of the league...
He just laughed and said what? A gloryhunting stoke fan- there's no such thing.
Then I realised how ridiculous what I said was- surely in this era of premier league being the only league and the top four of that being the only big clubs any stoke fan, whether starting today or 50 years ago is not a gloryhunter!
Come on you rip roaring potters lets have a big win and clean sheet today for our long-suffering and new 'gloryhunting' fans alike!!
