I.e. the tippy, tappy, pass, pass, pass - fall back then pass it across the back keeping posession all day with no tackling - physical contact -passion even or, any form of challenge until you reach that last third
try to 'walk it in the net' as well - arrogant pansies !
just for all you who hate hoofball and crave the Arsene Wenger approach
HAS it really occured to any of you empty headed dolts
its actually far more fucking boring, predictable and often FAR FAR worse to watch than ANYTHING WE DO ANYTIME !
I watch it regularly and turn it over because its soulless crap for the most part
And yet, many 'PURISTS' on here seem to masturbate furiously in the hope one day we'll play like that ?
I crave 'a bit more through midifield' true but, the shit on here tonight just takes the fucking biscuit !
FFS !

Totally agree matey. But 70 yard diagonal punts from full back to big lump ain't exactly entertaining either, are they?
I'd settle for something in between.

It is not about extremes - a mixture of direct and some tip tap would be nice - mix it up so you are not one dimensional, be it tip tap or hoof - nowt wrong with a bit of both
It is not black and white so why paint it like that - it will do your blood pressure no good ya know

I think most fans would be happy with a bit better ball retention, or just a simple 5 yard pass now and again but hey that's empty headed dolts for you as you say!

All teams need balance. All teams need to handle the physical. Do you think Brazil of 1970 were a pushover? They weren't. They were hard as nails.
football should be a bit of everything if and when it's needed. One reason the shit have been so successful for so long is that they are flelxible. If it's right to play aa long ball they play it. If it's right to sit back they sit back.

The best example of both styles combined - when on top form - are Chelsea. Very pacey, direct, but pinpoint accuracy with their passing aswell (and great at keeping the ball when they have to). Probably one of the few opposing teams I don't mind watching as a neutral when they're on top form. Can't stand watching teams pass it across the back 4 countless times before moving forward and sending it back again.

I totally agree, why do people on here always have to talk in extremes? Its either tippy tappy or hoofball. There's no law against actually mixing it up a bit surely. For me I would settle for the brand of footie we played against liverpool earlier in the season. It was fast, exciting, pressing football. We defended from the front and were much more expansive than we have been of late. Pulis's mindset has definitely been more negative.

Oh the horror of accurate passing to the feet of the likes of Matt Etherington and Pennant and seeing them crossing from the byeline instead of balls being floated in from the halfway line for Kenwyn to make the best of and our talented wingers left to scrap for bits and pieces.
Such a bollox post Tony it is beneath criticism. Its not even worthy of shit binning.

Well Mark I'm reacting to the overt crap posted by others
and yes - its two wing halves everytime for me too
There are some rather disturbed people on here you know (I actually have a life outside this message board you know, it seems however plenty seem to live solely for slagging their own team, its style of play and manager 24/7 - sad acts they are) - and a balance has to be restored sometimes by posting the provocative alternative
hence my leading post
but - shit bin it if you like
and lets all fuck off to Cuba or Peru or somewhere like that eh ?

Surely the whole league, apart from us, don't play this tippy-tappy carpet crap though?
For good or ill, it's us who are out of step with every other team (except maybe Blackburn, and whether that'll change post-Allardyce, who knows?)

just let Ryan and Huthy pass the ball back and two, to each other an extra few dozen times each game and we'll soon catch up
