Tuncay..........Turkeys international Captain, Proven at Premier league level, moments of pure magic, skill and brilliance to change a game, Found the net occasionally when played. Price £4.5 mill allegedly Carroll......Played 1 bit part in an England reserve side, out scored in his previous season by 4 maybe 5 players (too lazy to check) in a lower league than the Prem with a lot of Premier league quality players littered through his team, Played 6 months in the Premier league, has found the net on a regular occasion Price £35 mill allegedly Spot the Bargain

I'd say the Carroll fee was ridiculous and the Tuncay fee was about right.

The fee's for the top strikers have been ridiculous for a long time. But Carroll is probably worth something between the values of Bent and Torres - whatever those values happen to be. He doesn't have the experience or track record of Torres (yet) but, in my opinion, he brings a lot more to the game than Bent. He scores like Bent does but works defenders much harder than Bent.
If I was going to spend silly money on a striker I'd go for Carroll over Bent. He's probably the best header of a ball playing in the UK.

I think it's pushing it to say he "scores like Bent" based on half a season Forny. Bent and Torres are proven Premier League goalscorers of long-standing, consistent repute. Carroll, thus far, is not.

Anyway, time will tell whether any of them are worth the fees paid. I'm just glad that Carroll is injured and we won't be facing him tomorrow.

If Tuncay was under priced at £4.5 million why was nobody else after him?

If Tuncay was under priced at £4.5 million why was nobody else after him? I dont think Tuncay was under priced other than the fact that I THOUGHT we had paid £5 Mill for him and we could have re couped that amount, I was comparing the staggering differential in fees meaning that Carroll was either overpriced or if he was sold at the current value/going rate then Tuncay was indeed sold on the cheap when comparing the two. On the no one else came in for him.....unfortunately other either than believing what Daves views says I am not party to SCFC buisness deals or enquiries other than the price for my season ticket and pie on match days, so I can not argue or defend that point of view.

Fair point we lose out on half a million but then his wages for the rest of the season will make that up. Would be nice to profit all the time but it doesn't work out llike that every time. The Carroll price was just madness and only possible because of the torres fee. On the no one else came in for him.....unfortunately other either than believing what Daves views says I am not party to SCFC buisness deals or enquiries other than the price for my season ticket and pie on match days, so I can not argue or defend that point of view.
