Will Pulis change his style of play and do away with Pulisball or will he revert to ultra defensive Pulisball and try to survive using the binary system he seems to always fall back on?

If he keeps us up, will it matter?
If he manages, by hook or by crook, to keep us up, maybe then we can look to build on this by bringing in more attack-minded players. Allardyce did this at Bolton.

Cityfullergoals that's been tried on many ocassions Sunderland, Watford and Brum just to name a few have tried that route and failed. Personally I'd like us to try it the Reading way.

Boton were the exception to the rule though RTB and as you have said they are almost certainly doomed this season

i wouldnt mind however many seasons they've had in the prem though. lets face it, we are never going to be able to really compete for a long time in the prem.

They're not doomed because of their style of play though are they? Allardyce got them into Europe with it last season.
Wigan have survived a fair old while with a direct style of play as well.

Why not Middlesbrough have RTB If we have the backing from our chairman like they have from theirs them we will be ok.

If Coates wants to reap the rewards then he'll be astute enough to know he need to keep investing in the team if he wants the club to be a financial success

Lets look at Pompey. I reckon everyone thinks they are also a very physical team (just like us as everyone moans). They dont win their games usually by very much, the odd goal (apart from the 7-4 against reading! ) so if we kept up that way, staying tight at the back and getting the odd goal I wouldnt mind.
Also Middlesbrough are beginning to slowly slide down the table as they cant really compete anymore. 2 years ago they were in the UEFA cup final, this year were involved in a bit of a relegation scrap which they are practically out of.
The Premiership can sometimes be unpredictable - who would have thought Reading in their first season would have been challenging for Europe. They played good football. Then you have Bolton who play like us and did get into Europe. There are positives and negatives about every style of play but what really does matter is the results. Whatever style of football TP uses I won't mind as long as it gets results.

The instability of the middle premeirship is easily as unstable as the championship so with the right structure and squad we can survive.

Some good points there RTB
Boro are very unpredictable, they are holding Man Yoo, and are the only team to beat Arsenal this year, yet you would fancy our chances at home against them
Pompey have the backing of a fanatical home support and a very astute manager
Reading have been found out a bit this season
However, we all know it will be a struggle, so who cares as long as we get there and give it our best shot - we cant ask any more

I think we will struggle next season in the Prem regardless on who we have on the pitch. The prem is a world away in terms of everything about the game. I fully expect that should we gain promotion, that we will be relegated before the season is over. the point really is to get there, and then push on, both on field and off it aswell. Being relegated from the Prem wont be a failing as such. we need to get there, then the whole club will raise the bar a little. If we can become a yo yo club for a few seasons, then we will have done very well.

I think Derby almost relegated themselves before the season started. They spent big to get to the prem when they had no real money then the buys to stay in the prem were not that great so they had a season of struggle from the start. Its something I am sure will be avoided by is when we go up.

Middlesbrough seem to do well against the larger clubs, such as Chelsea last week and Man Utd this week but don't do well against the lesser clubs such as losing to Reading and Cardiff at home.
Last year Kevin Doyle and Leroy Lita were scoring for fun for Reading but this season Doyle on has 5 and Lita's gone out on loan to Charlton. It does point to the fact that they rean away with this league and carried on the momentum in the Premiership but once it got tough for them, they seem to have slipped away a little from the outfit they were last season.
If we could end the season well then and go up Automatically or even top, I reckon we'll have a good chance because of the attraction of the premiership to playersand also will have the momentum to help us through. Team Spirit also seems to be a large factor in Readings rise and we all know how TP gets his players close and can create a great dressing room.
