Has anybody noticed the latest Sentivale campaign of Vale propaganda in regards to the new Vale season ticket prices for 08/09? Today’s edition has a picture of two supporters beaming with wide grins whilst each one holds up a season ticket on the front page, whilst on the back page another picture shows four players also showing gleaming grins whilst holding up posters to promote the season tickets. As well as the pictures you have the story of the “Fan-tastic deal” and fans comments to the amazing offer to the supporters.
They are on the verge of being relegated this afternoon into League Two and it has been a shocking season for the Vale where they have only managed to win 8 out of 41 league games so far and they have also been humiliated by non-league Chasetown in the FA Cup and yet the Sentivale manages to print photographs of fans and players with big cheesy grins and also a lot of comments from overjoyed fans.
To me this is reminiscent of some form of government propaganda campaign to keep moral high even in times of severe desperation. Does Comical Ali or Alistair Campbell now work for The Sentinel as part of a Port Vale promotion department?
