Sods law our next home game is against the Mackems. I trust that every single Stoke fan there will be bellowing his song out just to let him know how we appreciate what he's done for us? If not, don't bother going. A living Stoke legend. Also, the biggest loser in all this? I bought my little lad a Fuller t-shirt for my lad last Friday! His first ever Stoke hero looks to be gone. Now he will know how I felt over Sir James of Greenhoff.

He will get respect and a rousing round of applause from me, but sing the name of an opposing player? Don't think so.

If he does go, he should get what any other returning player gets. A curteous reception at the start then fucking booed for the rest of the game. No way should our fans be singing his name after kick off Bunny.

I for one will stand to my feet and applaud the man regardless of what shirt he is wearing. It just wont be the same without him. My 10 year old son has hardly missed a Soke match in the last 5 years and he really thought I was pulling his leg when I told him Ric may be off. He's also had a 'Fuller Legend T-Shirt' recently.

How is Fuller the loser in all this?...
If he wanted to stay he could - on his current wage, for another 18 months.
He wanted a payday and an extented contract and it looks like he's going to get it.

bunny you should be old enough and wise enough to know that players move on and so should we.
The grass is always greener etc. We should wish him well but not against us.

He will get a bigger reception from us than the SAFC fans that's for sure.

At times i've said "oh ric", once a bloke in front of me even nearly hit me when I blasted ric for not passing when he'd already scored 3 against the baggies, but I can forgive him for anything he does to annoy me for his moments of sheer brilliance. He'll be getting a song from me with a lump in my throat.

Fuller wants to go, so he'll get nothing from me, yes he's done very well at the club but he has also been very well paid for it.
"I trust that every single Stoke fan there will be bellowing his song out just to let him know how we appreciate what he's done for us? If not, don't bother going" - what a pathetic statement

Greenhoff was gutted to leave and cried when Waddo told him he was being transferred. Fuller, if he goes, is going because he wants to go - for more money.

As much as I love Fuller, I am a Stoke fan first. I'd applaud his name when it was read out but, as others have said, I wouldn't applaud an opposing player during the game. He's always got the option to stay if he wants to.

To be fair, he'd probably go off injured after a minute once Huth or Ryan give him a solid barge to his bad shoulder.

dfifferent eras as you know Forners.
Steino got his chant reverberating around the ground. Are people saying that Fuller hasn't played at the very least an equal part in teh fabric of our football club.
Let's face it, we've acquired Premiership status and 10,000 new fans thanks in no small part to Ricardo. <winky>

I wondered if it was better to follow my own philosophy and tell him to have his own name on the back, cos players come and go etc. But hey, he's 9 and kids have heroes. I hope he (and your lad) will understand that players can still be heroes at a club even when they move on. ???

Standing ovation , Stoke legend i guess this is his last big pay day chance signing on fee etc and with players around him not as good getting paid more he must feel he should get a slice, more to do with the stupid state of football than a reflection on him big loss though no pace or movement up front now unless Tuncay plays every week

Ricardo Fuller is not a stoke legend, no more than liam Lawrence, who scored the same amount of goals for us in the year coming up, or James Beattie, they are just good players who have come here, done their bit, and then moved on. A legend is a player that will be remembered for years to come, a player recognised by other clubs as the defining man of your team. Stoke are not defined by Fuller, and most other clubs recognise what so many stoke fans are blinded by, his goalscoring ability is shite. If he scored 10-15 goals a season for us then he would be well worth legendary status, but the goals he does score are few and far between. With the clubs current level of progress in 25-30 years time the only memory of ricardo will be some fans thinking, oh remember him, he helped keep us up. Ricardo fuller would never make it into a team of all time stoke city greats, and never should, the truth is hard to hear for some, but for so many to be blinded by their love for a striker who cant score goals is beyond reason.
