.......according to McGarry on the 12 o'clock sports bulletin. "Ricardo Fuller and Shola Ameobi may be the partnership that's got Stoke fans' mouths watering - but it might not happen on Monday night, according to Tony Pulis. Pulis is likely to stick with Richard Cresswell in attack" ??? ??? typical Pulis for goodness sake he's just about the only person in Stoke that would even consider this

We have to invest everything in the Fuller/Shola partnership at this point, don't we? See if it works as well as we hope and sparks a run of form.
If Fuller starts on the bench, and Shola isn't quite ready for a full 90 minutes - that'll give them about 15-20 minutes on the pitch together.
Fuller off the bench has worked well in the past, but surely not this week after he's had a 2 or 3 week break. He'll be raring to go.

Absolutely no probs with Ameobi and Cresswell to start, then Ricci to come on with plenty of frustration and points to prove asap in the second half. That's good management, because despite his dodgy form since Xmas Cressy is a quality finisher who also has points to prove, Shola is raring to go and I'm expecting to see Bothroyd on the pitch too, I'd say there's a good chance of us finishing the match with three (!) strikers and none of them called Sidibe.

Whoever the fuck starts give 'em a break, then if we lose the wrist slasher keyboard warriors can come on here,or if we win the rimming warriors can do likewise. Reapeat until the end of season.

It's a while since I posted (under another name BTW) but when I saw this thread it rekindled something inside!
Anybody suggesting Cresswell should play instead of either Fuller or Ameobi could not have been watching him play this last 2/3 months. All this crap about him playing out of position doesn't wash with me. Even when he has played as a "striker" (I use use the word in it's loosest terms) he has been woeful. Against Norwich away he played up front until Fuller came on and was shite, never getting close to even attempting an effort on goal. When Fuller came on he was shoved to the left wing and just as shite there! If everybody is being honest, he did an OK job when he first came but has done absolutely nothing the last 10 or so games wherever he has tried to play. I understand the reason he never gets dropped is because he is one Tone's "undroppables" but come on, even Tone must see Cresswell is not in the same league as the other 2! I'll go as far as to say, the way he has played the last couple of months, must rank him one of the worst players I've seen down Stoke in recent years and that's saying something!
So come on Tone, don't undo all of you're good work this season by continuing with this blind loyalty towards a player who is nowhere near as good as the other players you can pick instead of him.

I find it strange if Cresswell will start. Fuller back at last, and he can't afford to leave out Ameobi when we've paid so much for these few games.

Shelling out around 750k (in fee and wages) to "upgrade" Cresswell/Sidibe to Amoebi is a gamble, but it's one worth taking in our position.
However, from what I've seen of him, Amoebi is no better than Fuller, so what would we be spending an absurd amount of money for if we weren't going to pair them together?
Surely Pulis will realise this?
We'll see what happens on monday...

Hopefully this is all hot air and Fuller will fire us to the top on Monday night. But Radio Stoke continued to run the 'likely to stick with Cresswell' line all through yesterday
