LEON Cort has declared himself on course to be fit to face old club Crystal Palace on Monday.
Cort returned to the training pitch today for the first time since soldiering through last Saturday?s 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday with a calf strain.
?I?m surprised how much it?s eased off,? said the 28-year-old defender today.
?I?m getting better every day, so I should be OK and eligible.
?Having the two extra days has been a Godsend really to give me extra time to get it right,? he adds.
Not that he is taking his place for granted after acknowledging the return of Ryan Shawcross from a two-match ban to compete for the possible vacancy alongside on-loan Chris Riggott at centre-half.
Meanwhile, Cort has welcomed the sight of Ricardo Fuller returning towards his best ? at least on the training field ? as the Jamaican international is also eligible after completing his two-match ban.
?Ric is looking sharp again,? Cort reports. ?He gets kicked every week left, right and centre, so to get a little break has probably helped him.?
Leon Cort tells The Sport tomorrow why he believes Palace boss Neil Warnock was childish and unprofessional.
