Did anything ever come of that "Save Our Stripes" campaign three or four years ago?

I know the Mackems have retained their stripes this season, but I remember something from the SOS campaign about stripes being banned in the Prem after a certain date. Just wondered if that was still likely to happen, and when?
Edit: It was proposed for the 05-06 season, but obviously it never happened.

The full coloured backs for striped shirts is only for Europe, at the moment.
