I reckon this is just a way of Stoke trying to get England to consider him, by talking about him considering playing for another nation. I hope it is anyway, Capello wont be managing England in a few years time, and hopefully the new manager will have half a brain cell and pick Ryan.

I think Shawcross will be fine regards to England, at least Capello didn't pick Upson or Lescott ahead of him... ;D

I've been saying this for ages. It's obvious he's not going to be picked for England.
He didn't get caps for the U21s never mind the full side, that useless twat Mancienne gets picked even though he can't defend. The powers that be value so called footballing CBs before people who can actually defend.
He's been targeted as a thug, and there a reserves at the big clubs who will get a chance before him.

Let's all copy the Sentinel's piece to Stuart Pearce, c/o the FA, Soho Square, London. He is the main reason Ryan has been overlooked, I reckon.
Does anyone have his email address?

We all want Ryan to be part of the England setup. Unfortunately it seems that word is out that he shouldn't be considered. Crazy really when you look at some of the dross called into the England squad. Apart from the Arsenal hypocrite which top manager wouldn't want him in their squad. Says it all really.

Ryan could be one of those 'don't know what you've got til he's gone' players. He walked away from the world's biggest club to play football. He took a risk on a Championship team and it worked for him and Stoke. I am pretty sure ManU now wished they had not sold him - it'll cost them a lot more to get him back.
Given the poor treatment of him by England's management, it would be entirely within his character to take his chances with a smaller nation's team and then make it work. If England don't give him his chance soon they may, one day, regret not doing so.

He's only what 23? He should be patient with England, centre half is a position where you tend to pick older, more experienced players in an international set up. If he's not getting a look in at 26-27 then maybe it's time to think again, but for now he should just bide his time and the England caps should come. If he starts playing for Wales he can forget about every playing at a World cup or European Championship

You're quite correct Aragorn - Wembley it is - but I think you know what I mean. Pearce is the problem, wherever he 'lives' now!
