It was refreshing to hear on Sat that Ameobi was playing the target man role but that it was very much into his feet as opposed to his head..
I also listened to a Shola interview saying exactly that, he prefers it into feet and he isn't one to win headers from lumps upfield..
Glad to see that Pulis is listening and responding to players' strengths (well ,this one anyway!)

Totally agree with you, thought Shola came across really well, he like some of the present players want to actually play football not just play the long ball, which is ok if there are no other options, but if you can get the ball forward by keeping hold of it and passing it then all the more entertaining i say. Well done TP because we all know he likes to play the diagonal ball down the chanel to the big centre half! Maybe he is slowly changing his style of play now the quality of the players can allow him to!

i agree, there is a difference between having a quality target man like ameobi who has the skills to have the ball played into feet, rather than a long ball for sidibe to flick on/knock down. long ball is the better option when you have fewer quality players in the team as we did at the start of the season.

TP always plays to his strengths we all saw the change in tactics when Hendrie arrived. He knows how to get the best out of his players and also what style wins games in whuch league.
Shola AND Pearson have been brought in with one eye on next year. If we go up we've stolen a march on our competitors by already having two Prem quality players on board it also means we will alter our style to use to their strengths for the remainder of this season.
