He is the is kind of player we need to be looking for, thought he was excellent for Newcastle today and has been every time I`ve seen him play. Strong in the tackle, good on the ball, sat in front of their back four and ran the show.
Forget lightweight options like Ireland, Jenas, and Kranjcar. These types are good players, but they will never fit into our style of play.
Why do our scouts never seem to pick up gems like Tiote?

Whenever ive seen him play hes looked decent but he does dwell on the ball too much, he isnt the finished article yet and cost castle 4 mil

Overseas scouts?
Yes, we do.
With, so far, dismal results.

Yet was he not the one rolling around clutching his face like a great big pussy at the end of the game when he hadn't even been touched. Not for me thanks. Give me an honest pro like Deano and Rory any day.

I'd prefer Whitehead too myself because if you aint got the Whitehead's of this world in your team then i'm pretty sure that the supposed silkier playmakers aint gonna get stuck in and win it to enable them to strut their stuff. With a team full of silky playmakers then we might as well go and watch a subutteo tournament on a Saturday afternoon.

A Tiote type player (not actually the lad himself) would bring the best out of Wilson. He needs a presence in midfield to allow him to dictate with his passing game.

H On the back foot perhaps, because no one would want or attempt to get the ball off the opposition so that way i fail to see how a team of supposed more silkier players would win us matches

It's no surprise we're not signing players like Tiote when TP has seemingly such a stubborn reluctance to sign players from foreign clubs. Tiote cost Newcastle 3.5-4 million from FC Twente. Now how hard is it to have someone watching the Duthc League every week and finding these players. Our problem is that we are restricted to a small pool of players by not looking abroad - those in the Premiership and the top half of the Championship. Those clubs want to be in a position similar to ours so why sell their players to us? We're not competing with clubs like FC Twente so we're far more likely to find it easier to sign players from there.
