Looking increasingly likely he is leaving for Sheff Utd,if he did go that would surley dent their promotion challenge. They also have boardroom problems and can't be to far away from admin.Looks like they are holding out over compensation for Adams, but all the compensation money will do is keep the current board at the helm as they will not sell to Chaudry or anyone else. I know their are some Stokies who want Fail to go up,but i'm still firmly in the camp that hate them.Would love to see them play Leek Town in the North West Counties League.

Adams will become Sheff Utd manager later today or tommorow, he has admited he is a big Sheff Utd fan so why wouldnt he move from League 2 to Championship?
Looks like another nearly promotion for Vale then with Geoff Horsfield becoming new manager ;D

I hope he stays to be honest as I quite like to see the local teams do well. Call me old-fashioned like but yeah, I hope they go up!

Fair play to you mate, don't think the majority of them want us to stay up though.I suppose fans base their opinions on their own individual expierences,i will never have any respect for them.

Get over it. They are just another team. Right now, they are miles off our radar. I wouldn't rub it in either. Just thank whoever your God is that it isn't us - Without Coates we could have been somewhere similar now.

No disrespect but i think fans who live out of the area( no less Stoke than us who live in the area) are not aware of the Fail fans hatred of us,if you are unlucky enough to work with more than one of them you will know they still take more pleasue out of us losing, than their own team winning. No Stoke fan is better than any other Stoke fan,but evey Stoke fan is better than any Vale fan

C'mon Stenny, every Stoke fan is better than a Vale fan. You've got to admire them for sticking with their team when it would be much easier to support Stoke or if they can't face that then Man Utd, Liverpool, etc. I do live in the area and know a lot of Vale fans and by and large they're a decent bunch, but then again I don't go winding them up

I spent many years living in Stoke. I was brought up there. I went to school there, I worked there. I even worked up in Burslem for a while. I have been at all the derby matches there have been since 1969. So thanks for the cultural guidance but I do understand entirely how much animosity exists between Stoke and Vale fans. In spite of that I still think it is a distraction. Besides, if you really want to piss off a Vale fan, dismiss them as irrelevant. Certainly, from a Stoke perspective these days, they are irrelevant.

Very irrelevant......if they are doing well then so be it. IMO he will leave.....then another chapter in vales history will start again!

After hearing 'he'll come to a decision in 48 hours'- sort of says it all. Went the pub with my cousin for the arse game, who's a Vale fan and said he isn't confident he'll stay at the Vale as he's never at a club for longer than 2 seasons, Sheffield is is home club and he'd be on a bigger wedge.
Decent, knowledgeable supporters that support their lovcal club. Sure theres some bellends but thats part of the culture, we have our fair share 'n all.

Malvern, In no way was i trying to understate your support,or any other exile's support for S-O-T'S finest team.Infact i admire the dedication the exiles show in terms of support, travelling and finances.I know as i go most away games, and the costs hurt my budget every fortnight or so,the exiles do it every week so the financial hit must be greater. I just can not bring myself around to ever like Port Vale ...again.Like so many i liked them/wished them well in the late 70's when we played them in friendlies/testimonals.

Inevitable from the moment he joined them!!
Vale was a definite foot on the ladder to better things for Adams. I'm surprised they landed him in the first place. Decent manager who would do a good job for any Championship side imo.
