Must be nearly done listening to that when he has said it would be a 2.5 year contract !!!!!! Interesting to hear what he says's about him getting goals ! Think we will see JP grab some goals soon if we get him signed because TP is encouraging him and expecting him to start scoring !!

better than loosing him all together Beat me to it Much rather an extension to the loan, thus keeping him until the end of the season and getting him even cheaper (in theory)

I think he'll sign for £1.8 million on 2 and a half year deal ready for Everton. bayernoatcake, guessing since 2005.

We will probably get him for better value in the summer as well

Better than nothing, plus we get more time to get a proper deal sorted in the summer.

Or it gives Pennant more time to put himself in the shop window.
And his agent more time in the summer to find a better deal.

It'd be a strange one if we did.
Aren't Zaragoza still paying a hefty chunk of his wages?
Are they really prepared to keep up their obligation to him until the end of the season, rather than getting him off the books and receiving a (decent?) fee right now?

Can only imagine Zaragoza are gambling that Pennant will have another impressive stint with us, and will attract closer to the £6m figure they want for him (either from us, or more likely another Prem club) in the summer window. He's contracted 'til 2012.

So the manager is on sounding VERY positive and talks of a 2.5 year deal. Shortly after the Mirror say it's an extended loan. I will hold onto what our manager is saying over the Mirror for now
