and would gladly see him removed as manager of Stoke I really do hope he doesn't mess things up. Come on Pulis prove me wrong and show everyone that you actually do have a little tactical knowledge and get us promoted without the need of the play-offs.

It’s still in our hands.
Stay positive and believe, that will be the message from Tone to the players.

I would like to know who exactly the red card brigade are/were.
I can only remember 2 people actually ever agreeing with it in the first place.

I wasnt to sure with pulis myself, but to all these people who say prove to you that he has drive and ambition its bollax. He has alraedy proved to us that he has produced one of the best sides we have had for a long time, and he has made this a strong club to be feared. So even if we dont go into the prem i still think they have had a really good go at it but it clearly wasnt to be.

I share the same sentiments as Spider. We have to do it this season. I think we might do it but we have to win 3 and draw 2 to do it. Our recent form would suggest we won't but with the two recent aquisitions of Pearson and Shola, if Pulis changes his philosophy to one of intending to win rather than intending not to lose, we do have the tools to do the job unless we're shafted by some stupid officials.
I did the 'predictor' and had us finishing second behind WBA. That was on the basis we go for it and that we beat Brizzle. It really is there for the taking now but Pulis has to as positive as the supporters to achieve it.
OS.

Why do we have to do it this season Old Stokie?
Surely you're long enough in the tooth to know that stability and patience will create the platform for success.
Under Pulis we've... 1. been kept up, 2. achieved midtable safety, 3. flirted with the play-offs, 4. been top 6 for half the season with a chance of automatic promotion.
Whatever happens this season, he deserves to keep his job, be rewarded for this season and be given the wherewithal to build for next year.

What were you're expectations back in august?

BCFC my expectations have always been very low with Pulis as manager. Chirper well done keep going through the old rivals posts, when you find one by me come back and let me know what I posted heh, BTW I was never part of the red card loonatic fringe. Oh and thanks beagriestache for ignoring me and givivng me the "cold turkey approach" 3 ti,es on this topic alone ;D ;D

Given how low you say your expectations were then Spidey, you must be delighted that the manager has even got us into this position in the first place.

The only thing I'm not delighted with (as I have said many many times) is that Pulis is still our manager.

Surely low expectations you would be delighted with 2nd place with 5 to go?? So why are you still unhappy may i ask?

My dislike for Pulis is well documnetd on here, I love Stoke and I'm exstatic with the current position, alas there's always the Pulis factor that sticks in my throat.

Its hard to argue with that logic, but expectation is relative, isnt it?I`m sure most of us would have "stuck" at a guarranteed play off place at the start of the season, but having lead with 6 games to go, a play off place would frankly be a disapointment. And the reason that I agree that we have to do it this season is that we have seen 2 "big" spending seasons, and I cant believe we would see the same level of investment from "you know who" (who has to be fair done us proud the last 2 seasons) next year!

Post by bcfc4life88 on Apr 2, 2008 13:50:12 GMT
Okay "dislike" then both mean the same thing. I hate him basically as he never came here to work for the good things but to try n fuck my club up and the day he went was the best day of his so called "reign" in charge. But credit where credit is due he has got your lot 2nd

Dislike and hate are 2 completely different things. I don't hate the man I just don't like so many of his footballing/managerial attributes. I could list them all but to be honest I don't have the time or the inclination

At the start of the season i anticipated mid table or just missing out on play offs We are now in a position where we could win the league and we look assured of a play off position Exceeded peoples predictions Tone is doing a super job this season Found gems in the likes of Shawcross, Riggot etc and managed to get in Ameobi and sign all loan players on permanent contracts. Well Done Tony and Peter From a grateful stokie
