He'd either come off on a stretcher or with a hatrick!

Thats not what Gray said. He was referring to Barcelona dicking teams in La Liga, whereas if they had to go away to Stoke and Blackburn they wouldn't find it so easy. Teams in La Liga try to out tippy tappy them, but for some reason they fail

what a load of tripe, if blackpool can play us off the park imagine what barcelona would do! We would lose at least 4 nil at home and about 7 nil away

Blackpool 'played us off the park' but we were a fraction away from having 4 goals! Things didn't go right against them, get over it.

what a load of tripe, if blackpool can play us off the park . . . . You obviously didn't attend the match, must have missed any highlights and didn't hear Holloway's comments that Stoke were the better team and his Blackpool team didn't deserve to win the game.

I get what Andy Gray says but I think what he says isn't true.
The thing that marks Barca out against other good footballing sides is their physicality and the fact that they close the ball down when not in possession. As for a showdown, they would more than likely run rings 'round us.

I don't think he even said that. He said something like "Would he be able to cope with the sort of style that Stoke and Blackburn bring to a game with their high intensity and work rate? We don't know."
It was more of a suggestion than an opinion.

Andy Gray raised a good point last night.
He simply suggested, that if Barcelona were playing in a league who's lesser teams played with such intensity and in such hostile grounds (where it's cold and the fans would be on their back), would they walk over teams so easily?
He mentioned Stoke as we're a good example of a team who give no respect to the big teams at the Brit. This article just put 2 and 2 together and ended up with 14.
It's actually pretty complimentary to Stoke and us, the fans.

I think that Barcelona might be good enough to just edge it against us!
Mind you I wouldn't mind seeing what Pique and Puyol would make of a Long Throw with Mama on the end of it

Thats what Andy Gray was really referring to. Just like barks says, Barca never have to go to cold an hostile grounds against big, physical direct teams. Chelski and Man Utd have to adapt and beat teams like Stoke and Blackburn on their own to patch to win the league. But would Barca be able to?

I think the point Gray was making is that they would struggle with the physicality of English football and i totally agree. In the Champions League in recent seasons they have struggled hugely against physical sides like Inter last year and they were blessed to beat Chelski the year they beat them in the semi's. I think Ronaldo is a better player the Messi and, although its all just opinions as i doubt Messi will ever play in English football, i doubt e would be as successful as Ronaldo was for the shit.
I think Barca are hugely overrated and if they face a Chelsea side that gets some decent form back then i cant see Barca winning.

The idea that there are no physical teams in La Liga is pretty ignorant tbh.
Espanyol have more yellow and red cards this season than any Premier League team and Barca stuck five past them at the weekend. Away.
