Not sure how true this is but this from a journo on Twatter;
jonawils #Allardyce sacking... apparently he refused to follow up on new regime's suggested January signings (inc Geovani and Kris Boyd).

I was worried about Boxing Day. I'm a bit more optimistic now. I can't see Rovers pulling this round in two weeks, new manager or not. In fact, if they do have some kind of total football tippy tappy advocate, Rovers will be so schizo we'll possibly batter them.

From the Telegraph
Concerns were raised among senior figures within the club over the standard of some of the players that have been proposed to Allardyce as possible acquisitions in January, when Blackburn are expected to have no more than £6 million to spend on new signings.
Diabolical state of affairs. I hope they go down now.

Just seen from a source that the new board wanted Big Sam to sign Kris Boyd and Geovanni in January. They really are a joke. Scrimping on money as they see Blackburn only as a business and not as a football club.
Big Sam setting his sights on players we should be looking at whereas the new board thought they should have been looking at players of the calibre that Blackpool/WHU are looking at. Really think Blackburn could go down now with these mental Chicken manufacturers in charge.
EDIT- SHould have read bayern's post! Sorry man!

What's the point in signing Geovanni in January? You'd be paying him for 3 months before he'd bother turning up.

Why can't owners just leave the managers to sort out transfer targets. They know best who will fit into their system and they know best where they are weakest.
I refuse to believe this new "football consultant" at Liverpool knows more about football and individual players than Hodgson does, likewise with Big Sam and whoever wants them to sign Boyd!

Apparently he objected to the pies being replaced with chicken for the matchday catering. “It was one thing when they told me I had no money to spend but to take away my fucking pies, that was the last fucking straw.” – Big Sam, Twitter 2010 Funny on so many levels Big Sam on Twitter is hilarious. You on the other hand, are not.

Didn't they say he would only have £5 million to spend in January? Strange decision, Allardyce was the perfect manager for Blackburn, even if he did play an awful style of football.

My eyes popped out when I saw the bbc football page saying Allardyce sacked. Christ they must be mad. He is proven in keeping teams in the prem with no cash to spend.
If West Ham take him on, Sam will be REALLY motivated to keep them up. As for Blackburn, one just hopes the 'owners' have a workable formula! Boyd & Geovanni? That's not even fantasy football!!!!!

Just a hunch but think Sam will end up at the Wolves - he's a Black Country lad. If they lost to West Brazil next week then it's very possible.
Can't see him at West Ham. Not pretty enough. Can see Big Eck there though with Gold and Sullivan.
Jol and Hughton could be lined up for Fulham, despite Jol turning it down honourably in the summer. Mark Hughes to go back to Ewood? As for Brum, I think Curbishley will end up there -his old club. It could be a merry-go-round over the next few weeks.

from a Stoke point of view:
1: bad news in that we play them v.soon & assuming they have a new manager in place by then then we will get the lets-bust-a-gut-to-impress-the-new-boss sydrome - again.
2:good news in that in the medium term its going to be difficult for a new manager to get everryone on-side as clearly SA was 'in control' there, its his squad who have bought into his methods so probable side down the table
3:might be some players we would be keen on: Samba,Nelson er...some others...Robinson? please not Morton Gamst Pederson he's shit.

Some Clubs now just don't want to get into & survive in The Prem (which is a gravy train). They want to play footie like Barca and Real Madrid & win trophies...and it isn't going to happen.
Citeh have spent Brazzilians but half of their team can't be arsed to turn up on a chilly day in Norf Staffy Cher. They won't win shit and that should be a lesson to the big bollocks and money men.

Now the Venky's have said it may be a couple of months before a new manager is in place!!
So that should give Blackburn time to be in the relegation zone with the transfer window shut before a new one is appointed. Bloody madness on their behalf, they deserve to go down with that sort of management of a football club.
