Both myself and no doubt plenty of 'if not all' Stoke supporters fully expected a win against Blackpool because us as supporters would have shown commitment and mostly above all else plenty of desire and a will to put ourselves about.
Unfortunately the match itself showed that apart from Wilkinson the rest are not born and bred Stokies although i felt that Huth had a decent match too.
Am i having a pop at those players which have served us so well?.....No, not really but just merely pointing out that i believe complacency crept in and that they felt that they didn't need to do the basics and that's to work hard all over the pitch in order to win the right to go on and win a game of football, nothing more, nothing less.
I aint saying Blackpool didn't deserve their win but we were truly awful due to above stated reasons and we just simply let them control the tempo because not one of our players 'apart from Wilko and Huth' didn't look up to both putting their foot in or indeed putting in a shift.
I was hurt at the time but on reflection i suppose i was aware as to how we might have played and the singing of that Rhyl song was quite truly pathetic especially when you consider it was the loudest song sung and had no bearing whatsoever in attempting to lift the lads.

I think most of the Crowd had the same attitude. The number of times I heard people shouting, "Come On Stoke, this is Fookin Blackpool, Not Chelsea"
We need to remember that ALL Premier League Teams are capable of beating anyone on the day, this is how we have done so well in the last two seasons, when Clubs have underestimated us!

Exactly. And as mentioned on another thread i cannot believe our loudest song was about fookin Rhyl whereas the old 'GET INTO E'M GET INTO E'M' would have being more appropriate given the situation and not some song about fookin Rhyl for fucks sake.
