How on earth have they achieved more than us? just because there playing fancy football in there first season doesn't mean anything, we play to our strengths and we've achieved far more than them and tbh i cant see them staying up. They play some good football but i dont think there strong enough to stay up.

Point is Holloway has got promoted and so far been competitive with almost no money at all. Pulis has got promoted and stayed up for two years and so far looks like making a third with a lot of money. I know we are only "little stoke" but we have probably spent as much as anyone in the division except Spurs and Citeh in recent years. Doing what we've done with money is hard doing it without is almost impossible!

The writer of that piece is trying to slight stoke for being programmed robots but isn't following instructions to the letter no matter what the basis of the forces!! In the Army each man has a job to do without question and in Stokes case it's exactly the same. So if the writer is using that as a slight then he's very wrong! Stoke are a very disciplined team, they may have lacked a bit of passion yesterday and our strikers had another off day but you can't knock their disciplined ranks and objectives. Blackpool played well yesterday and the game was a good battling performance. Stoke's weakness is when they ecounter the quick counter attack as I feel our midfield isn't quite good enough, but we are still building a team and that's just my opinion! Criticism for having discipline is very misguided!!

WRITTEN BY A BLACKPOOL FAN thought this was pretty good too What does the Wizard of OZ, & Stoke have... ... in common? Answer; Both have Tin Men who need help to achieve their hearts desire. And Tin Men is the almost perfect analogy for that inflexible rigid (4-4-2 yawn) formation that Pulis has sent out from day one when Stoke entered the premiership. Stoke; Set-up like Tin Men, to play like Tin men, mechanically clanking around the pitch, doggedly following those crude punch hole carded instructions programmed into them by T.P. Contrast that approach to Plucky little Blackpool whose FIRST season in the Premier league is like a breath of fresh air in the Prem. Like Dorothy, Blackpool FC have merrily/naively skipped and danced their way along the season long Premiership brick road, to overcome the various foes and obstacles placed in their way. And unlike Stoke, they also have a manager in Ian Holloway who has; No major concern or anxieties over what the opposition is doing, or are capable of doing. No rigid inflexible team formation rules fanatically programmed into players and as consequence, players performing stiffly & mechanically on the pitch. NO (We MUST ONLY have eleven 7 ft tall Cybermen)on the pitch to be able to compete effectively. The only rule given to his players by the Wizard Holloway, is go out, play good football without FEAR of the oppositon (home & away), and as a consequence look at the result they achieved today. And the irony of their winning result today was epitomised by D.j Campbell who I.H has bought for a very modest amount when compared to his opposite Stoke counter-parts. Not the tallest of players in the prem, but posessing the vital quickness of mind/feet to react quicker than Stokes slumbering titan sized defenders to pounce and score the 2nd half winner. Im afraid to say that Blackpool/I.H has acheived in little under half a season of premiership football what its taken T.P/Stoke THREE SEASONS and counting to achieve. A team with spirit, passion, commitment, but who'se players are free'er to express themselves when on the pitch rather than pre-programmed to play a certain way, when in certain situations, and more importantly without being shackled by fear of opposition, or rigid team formation. If Sir Stan Matthews(R.I.P)was watching today i wonder which of his two past clubs he'd be wanting to play for today? The team who have the heart to just go out and just play and enjoy their game, or the mechanical tin men who have had their heart/freedom to play and express themselves surgically removed. Im sure there are many Stokies who will agree with me and instead of being bitter at Blackpool and the result today, will look at Blackpool, congratulate them, and hope that T.P will instill a more Ian Hollowayesk approach with his players and team's game plans. Agree with every single word of that !

It will be interesting to see what he writes when the weight of expectation falls on their shoulders. Holloway normally makes his exit and they will probably buckle in all honesty.
But hey, well done yesterday, no hard feelings, it was deserved. I just don't see it lasting, sorry.

I thought that Blackpool were the better side on the day and thought Charlie Adam was superb for them. Everything they did went through him at some point.
MOTD seems to suggest otherwise but we all know that the program is not to be relied on as an accurate reflection of the game.
Despite us being poor and them playing well, we still created loads of chances and could easily have come out of the game as winners. Therein lies Blackpool's potential problem.
At some point they will be found out. A couple of bad results and lets see how their confidence is then? I hope they stay up, I really do but as others have said above, to suggest that they have achieved in half a season, what we haven't in 3 is little short of ridiculous.
They are 6 points off the bottom 3 so are far from safe as houses yet.

Well I am just going through 50 texts of abuse and I have got work to go through tomoz morning. For me, losing to Blackpool is worse than the Vale – because I live here and all my mates are pool supporters.
I will say that the last time Stoke came to Blackpool in our promotion season it was billed as Beauty and the Beast contest. Not a single one of my friends or supporters I talked to after the match could believe just how much football Stoke played and all agreed, including the local newspaper, that Stoke were the best footballing side they had seen at Bloomfield road for some years. May I remind them that, that side was indeed a Pulis one.

What a load of pompous, finger-wagging nonsense. Who the fuck does he think they are, Barcelona? As someone said, come back in two years and we'll talk about what you've achieved. We've seen plenty of your types come and go in the last three years. Blackpool were great to watch yesterday and I was very impressed with the way a bunch of relatively unknown players knocked the ball around so confidently. Good luck to them and I hope they stay up. I'm sure most of their fans aren't as sanctimonious as this wanker.

Those Blackpool fans are getting a bit big for their boots aren't they. They have rightly got plaudits for their season thus far but they are sounding a lot like those Hull fans a few years back. We are in our 3rd season and have shown we can do the business over that period, a couple of months in the top flight means nothing and a good beating might bring this jumped up shit down to earth.

Would I be correct in thinking that this time last year they were all Man Utd or Liverpool supporters?

I never understand why lesser teams supporters have a go at each other. save the bile for the big boys.
I like to see the underdog doing well but they are in danger of copying Hull by getting too big for their boots!

Would it be fair to say that it took Owen Coyle 2 games to achieve what SAF has taken 20-odd years to do?

Ooooooh i remember a certain team managed by a tangerine coloured manager (pun intended) who had a belting start to their foggy season in the prem. Where are they now? Blackpool have achieved nothing yet and with an attitude like this they will pick up detractors pretty quickly. I still wish them well but i think they will get sussed very quickly and we will see how they react when they lose 3 or 4 on the spin.
And as for the jibber about Sir Stan and who he might prefer to play for, he was a STOKIE not from Blackpool. He is ours, blackpool just had the good fortune to borrow him for a while.

He needs a slap, with an oatcake. That one guy has made me hope they go down. Looks like he has caught the big time Charlie bug.
The reason Blackpool are playing well is because they are playing without fear attacking from the off and teams don't know what to do. If they stay up for 2 seasons in the prem then talk to me about Holloway being better than Pulis.

Blackpool... Hull City... anyone seen this before ? Theyve done well and deserved to beat us but theyve achieved nothing yet. Cocky wannabe celebrity manager with cocky `this is easy` supporters, all very Hullish isnt it ?
