Link Sinnott fears relegation at home
Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott does not want to see his team relegated at the Britannia Stadium because of the home fans' loyalty throughout the season.
Vale achieved successive wins for the first time this season with a 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Sinnott told BBC Radio Stoke: "If it is to happen, I don't want it to happen at home because of the wonderful support the fans have given us."
"It's been a long, hard season for them and they don't deserve to see that."
Sinnott reserved special praise for his team, who would have been relegated to League Two if they had lost to Orient and other results had gone against them.
They could not force their way off the bottom of the table, however, despite David Howland's injury-time winner.
Sinnott added: "It was a performance of resolve; it wasn't an easy game.
"There's been quite a few times this season where we've suffered from late goals, so I'm happy that this time it's gone our way."
Vale are still 12 points from safety with five games left to play, and their relegation could be confirmed if they lose to Brighton on Saturday.
Which idiot comes up with stuff like this?

poor vale, they don't want to see their 3000 home regulars cry. The players should have to face up to what they've done.
