I have only just had chance to come on here and have a quick look round as my dad and I spent the whole day with four of the soundest, nicest Wednesday fans there are.
We sat in the home end with them, the stand with two tiers right behind the directors box. I thought the start of the game was lively, both teams created oppurtunities and it looked like it was going to be a decent game of football.
Ameobi was certainly winding up the home support but many were calling for him to get sent off for that challenge on their player, but it was nothing more than a booking. Their defence was very shakey and I felt we should have taken more advantage of this, Cresswell had some decent chances.
Dickonson was lucky to stay on the pitch, it seemed a very rash challenge and in my eyes he should have been off, but thankfully the ref saw otherwise. We had plenty of breaks and to be honest we could have won the game by half time.
BUT this is stoke we're talking about and as soon as Ameobi came off they seemed to piling more and more pressure upon us. We seemed to sit back and we allowed them more time on the ball, but I think we would have held on if it hadn't been for that crap goal kick from Nash.
So there it was 1-1, a dissapointing result, and it was hard to stand up and applaud their goal. The Stoke support was excellent through out but it did seem to die off at the end, though I think the fact they had equalised was the reason behind this. Not too many delilahs and the ones that were sang were loud and slow so fair play to the 3000 or so stokies that made the trip up.
I think Wednesday will be safe, and I think we could still go up automatically has we'll soon have Fuller and Shawcross back and I think pearson and Ameobi look like two very good signings.
Most of those thoughts have probably already been said but I cba to look up and down the board so i thought I'd post my thoughts.
P.S I was sat right behind where Matt Smith (the closet baggie) off the championship did his little speech thing at the start of the programme.
