I don't see what serious argument there is for suggesting, in our system at least, that Tuncay (or indeed anybody else currently at the club) is a better option than Ric. Exactly the whole point with Tuncay was him being behind the likes of Creswell, Sidibe and Walters. Thats true...Fuller when playing well is a great player...so for Tuncay to be kept behind Ricci is at least slightly understandable...however, to be kept out last season by the likes of an out-of-form Beattie, Sidibe, Kitson, and an inconsistant Fuller and now Walters....is just absurd. I remember one match at West Ham away when Tone actually started with Sidibe and Kitson ;D Only when he brought on Fuller and Tuncay did we actually win the game.

It isnt a case of just playing your best flare players at all times, you have to have the right balance

If Jones is playing then playing Ethers & JP is a must
therefore its Roc OR Tuncay for the other spot.
no problem for me with some rotation going on but Ric normally please.
I dont think Tuncay is strong enough to play CM in a 442
Tuncay is good cover for both wide spots though of course,at least attacking-wise.
factor in the possibility that EG may show his worth & we have some tasty options

these ridiculous Fuller vs Tuncay polls. at least when there is a "poll" on here compare apples to apples not apples to oranges like Fuller and Tuncay. they are 2 different types of player doing 2 different jobs, how come you're not comparing Huth and Tuncay or Huth and Fuller ?

agree mumf id love to see that....but pick...its Tuncay...then if things arent working bring Ric on and shift Tuncay out wide....you have to build your team around a player like Tunny. The Turk has an incredible football brain....Fuller is a very important player for us....and can change games from the bench....when/if needed. Hes a different player from the bench....why i really dont know. Sorry nick, but that is an utter fallacy. Fuller has scored a few from the bench, but that doesn't make him an 'impact' player. Why would we only use our, by some distance, best player for 25% of a match? Tuncay should have played a much bigger role at Stoke over the last year but to say he should be in ahead of Fuller is nonsense IMO.

Actually id say Tuncay has been very consistant....rarely has he let down when hes started a game....the only game he actually did nothing was against Blues at home i think it was when he started with Beattie....apart from that he always gets the crowd going and provides great entertainment...even when hes not on the ball, hes chasing players down like mad...you just dont get that with Fuller.

I also dont think its fair to compare a player whos played about 150 matches for Stoke to one whos started about 12 games...its ridiculous really.

Fuller is a great player and so is Tuncay...and the latter deserves to start games. And its utter horse shit that he doesnt. I'm sorry but the performance Tuncay produced against Fulham in the snow was simply unreal. I've never seen a Stoke player win us a game single-handedly in 40 minutes quite like that. And dont even begin to say..."the team played well"....NO....the team did average that day...we had just come off the back of a few shite results against Brum, Citeh and Villa etc and needed something special, and he provided it when it mattered. 40 minutes of pure quality....i think the fact that he produced that performance is one of the main reasons i go on about what a great player he is..because the fact that a player can produce something like that....bring the midfield into play like that and introduce such heart and soul to a team was just mindblowing. Its a performance that should be remembered for years. 2 games later I think Tuncay was dropped,...kind of says it all really....so pick dont start saying any shit about how hes not good enough to start etc....people can go on about their Whiteheads, Walters and Delaps etc but this guy is on a totally different level....Fuller did play that game when Tuncay came off with the score 3-0....oh and....guess what...it ended 3-2. There is good reason why Southgate laughed off suggestions that he would sell Tuncay to Chelsea for just £8 million. We are very lucky to have him...now Pulis needs to start starting the poor Turkish bastard.

To get rid of this stupid 'never been given a run of games' argument, Tuncay started every league game in between the game away at Arsenal and the game at home to Blackburn. If you'd like the overall record of results for those games, it's LDLLLWDD.
The fact is, he started up front in place of Fuller in most of those games and didn't look even half as effective of Fuller. It's been the same this season and when he plays up front, it seems that we don't see the best of the likes of Jones, or put in our best performances as a team. For that reason, it's Fuller every time, as he is almost like a spearhead specifically crafted for Stoke City.
Tuncay is a very good option to have on the bench, but I don't think he's good enough to get into our starting eleven. He's a fine attacking outlet to bring on if we're behind or if one of our wingers go down injured and he'll do his job.

This is what was once said of him by Brazilian legend (and at the time manager of Fener) Zico. "Tuncay has been a great loss to us, he was the one giving us the soul and the hope. Now that he is gone we miss that piece of soul and hope. He is a great person, and I wish him the best of luck in his new team. Even though he is now gone, I still wish he will come back"..... now this kid should be the soul and hope of SCFC but for some stupid reason he cant get on the pitch ahead of the likes of Jon Walters. (who is suddenly world class since banging in a penalty)

Sometimes you just gotta have some faith and belief in a player..and give someone a chance.in the past season and a half TP hasnt given Tuncay that chance...i am hoping he may have just started to show that faith...but we shall see in the upcoming games.
