I was one of about 50 or so on that tram and the way we were treated was an absolute disgrace. I do not know what happened at the pub when the tram stopped but then we were all herded off the tram and held in the pissing down rain for almost an hour before being escorted back up to another tram stop then the police split us in to two groups, they took one group I thnk back to the station then took us to the match which was then 10 minutes into the second half. It was a purposely done affair and nothing short of a disgrace to all those who just wanted to get to the match. I was soaked to the bone and remained so throughout my journey back. TWATS.

hmmm
having been to many many away games over the last 27 years I can honestly say not once have I been glad of the presence of our hooligans.
maybe others have been aided on occasion but overall the experience of normal Stoke supporters re hooligans is overwhelmingly negative

I was on the tram!we got on in the town center and it was rammed then, there were Sheff weds supporters on there with there kids and lots of stokies and everything was fine the stoke fan's were having a good sing song, it was so full shoppers couldn't get off and were having to stay on,we stopped at the stop before leppings lane and some knob started shouting and pointing to a Sheff weds fan like a man possessed well that was it the doors opened and all hell broke lose with stoke fans tryin to get to the Sheff fan's at the tram stop. One loud mouth knob started it all!!!! I got off the opposite door which was broke when i saw fully armored Dibble about to board the train so got in the ground just before we scored,by the way thought Pearson had an excellent game.

We were on the tram as well. There was trouble with one bloke trying to get on the train just after the city centre, but it wasnt too bad, like someone else said they were just singing and enjoying themselves. Then we pulled up outside the pub and it kicked off. Couldnt understand why the police kept the tram there for a good 25 minutes. Surely if the tram isnt there then there are fewer people around to cause trouble? We luckily managed to stay on the tram because the Sheffield Wednesday fans told us not to bother getting off because we obviously werent going to cause them any trouble. Got to the ground with 15 minutes gone, so i am sure that all the lads taken off the tram missed at least the first half. was stupid because like the sheffield wednesday fans were saying, there were babies and young kids on the tram who the fans were swinging punches around.
