and for the manager to be bold. We must not fear failure OR success. The players must be allowed to express themselves and Pulis must allow this. It must be tempting him to become even more cautious in the fear of losing
Winners hate to lose, but we should not be frightened of losing. Pulis must inject some belief in the team. This will give the players the confidence to stare the fear of failure in the face. Pulis and the management team must give the team permission to be bold, to be daring.
I dont mean we should be reckless. It simply means liberating the talent which is already there within this squad. Giving players permission to express themselves. Players such as Fuller/Ameobi/.Lawrence/Whelan to play with a freedom. To be released from defensivemindedness and be given the freedom to go at teams when they are there for the taking. It's time to be bold. It may go against Pulis's way and style, but it may be the liberation, both he and the players need, and are waiting for.

Couldn't agree more.
It's time to go all in. The teams who show bravery will take it now.

How shit is this sequence of results . I wish we'd just fucking go for it. if you are too scared to lose you are too scared too win. There is no excuse now with the quality of players we have brought in if we cannot beat the lower teams we are screwed. And before anyone says they are fighting for their lives we are fucking fighting for promotion so the minimum I expect is to match their fight and effort, then we should in theory have the better players to win, after all these teams are near the bottom because they supposedly are'nt as good as us. Do these teams want to stay up more than we want promotion, I hope not!. Pick the players in form get the ball to the feet of the footballers in the team and lets see what happens and no sitting on leads this is the tactic that will fuck everything up for us. If we have to settle for the play offs(still hoping for auto obviously) lets do it by going for goals and maybe try to play us into a bit of form in readiness for them at the same time. Another thing worries me is that if we dont go up we will once again be open to having our best players cherry picked off us again RS

I have been saying the same for weeks, we seem scared to go for it, it’s almost like we have a fear of failure and if we continue this way it will only result in the very thing we are afraid of.
The manager now has to over come his natural cautious nature and once more allow the players he has assembled to actually play with a freedom. If they go down on their shield very few will criticise them or him. I am not so sure if we go down tamely and give the impression of fearing the consequences of failure I think there will be many questions asked about whether we have what it takes mentally to achieve the ultimate which is promotion.
The players must play in their best positions and that for me means if Griffin is to play it must be left back or left back in the changing room. Pearson showed real promise today and given real freedom he can make a huge difference to us. Whelan is a play maker, that’s how he made his name at Wednesday and he must be allowed to dictate the play now, if that means we aren’t as direct as the manager likes at times then so be it. We have creativity and if we stifle them, it will be a real opportunity lost.
I think it’s the fear of conceding goals as we did against Rangers and Preston that is causing the manager headaches, well if you don’t get forward and create chances then it wont make a damn difference either way. There isn’t time to worry about tomorrow, it’s now or possibly never, this is our best chance to go up and if we fall back into the safety first mentality we will not only lose that opportunity we may not see such a season again for a long time.
It’s time to unleash the inner animal and go for it, now isn’t the time for dithering. I would hate to be saying, if only we had done this or if only we had done that come the end of this season.
THE ONE THING WE SHOULDN’T DO IS DIE WONDERING.

We certainly 'went for it' in the last few weeks of last season but because the stakes are even higher this time, there seems to be a bit more reluctance. Coates has taken his risks, time for Pulis to do the same - he proved he can last season. It's 'shit or bust' time.

First half we played football and part of the second half we should have fininshed the game off with another goal or two.
Same old story sitting back on a 1-0, always a chance of the oppostion getting back into it.
When will Pulis learn ?

ERE ERE SGS
If we had the defensive record of the past two seasons we would be up now
As we havent then we must play like we did at Wolves, and simply score more goals than the oppo

Clearly TP was 'stung' by the Preston / QPR results but he also chose to play an unfit Diao as a holding midfielder in those games.
That said, we also ended up going behind early doors against both Burnley and Blackpool so I can (sort of) understand the more cautious approach.
Now that it appears we have the players to go out and win then we have to change the mindset and quickly !

The shackles should have been released at least 5 or 6 games ago, SGS, when you were busy accusing those of saying so as negative, moaning, whatnots...
Not trying to pick a fight, but your now beginning to express the same doubts many of us have been 'moaning' about (your words)for quite some time.
All latecomers, welcome... ;D

Pulis doesn't do releasing shackles mate. He only applies them.
I also have to agree with Ruts comments. Whilst all around were expressing these sentiments and concerns 4 or 5 games ago, you were accusing the same people of moaning.
Amazing what NOT being top of the league can do isn't it!
All games are crucial, but we HAVE to win the next 2 which will make the Bristol City game, arguably, the biggest game in our history. Certainly the biggest in my lifetime!

Make no mistake, Pulis has done a good job this season and it pisses me off that people are so polarised that if you say anything remotely critical you are a PHW/moaner, whatever...
He's got us to this position but he's unnecessarily trying to limp over the finishing line rather than sprint home and I fear it's going to kill our chances...
I'm praying for an Ameobi/Pearson/Lawrence/Fuller inspired finish to the season because it's not going to come from the manager.
If I was PC and we got promoted I'd make TP Director of Football and appoint a Premiership level manager.
