I think the Baggies are probably the worst team/fans for making the assumption we will go and kick them off the pitch. Hopefully we'll walk the ball past them all game

This means a big man in defence to attack the long-throws which they will be practicing all week.
Best for Pulis to throw a curveball and tell Delap to make more short throws to Collins and Wilkinson to get to the byeline and cross from there unopposed.
Its good for us now that teams are focusing on our high balls and we can beat them through flair and skill.

Its been abit of a double edged sword the whole media perception about us as it has created this misnomer that we still kick and rush. This has allowed us to develop our flair game and become a much better footballing side. Its almost like some elaborate bluff that the media have created for us ;D

Take a short throw so that Collins can completely miss the penalty area with his cross and Wilkinson can cross it to nobody? Just stick Kenwyne on the near post to deal with the big defender.

Best curveball don't put Delap in first eleven, give the ball to Ric and fuck the big defender.

On the one hand, teams might think they know what to expect from us and change their gameplan accordingly. On the other hand, it's why we've been treated so badly by refs.

Brazil changing the lineup is a good thing for us. It shows they are more bothered about stopping us from winning, than playing to their strengths and winning themselves

Olssem is I understand out & he's by far their best defender
their other defenders are far better than what they ahd under Mowbray however cant see them handling Jones & Ric & Ethers & JP - never mind Rorys throws.
however we dont keep many clean sheets do we?

I've been on about the long throw for a while, MD. People say it's less effective than it was (and I suppose the stats agree) but I wonder if it is how we are using it these days that is the problem? Most of our early success with it revolved around near post flick-ons either going straight in or being bundled over the line at the far stick. I reckon we should get back to those fast, flat ones instead of trying to put it on the penalty spot or even the far post? I'd stick Ryan on the near post and try more flick-ons but what do I know?

Tamas and Ibanez are like Koscielney and Squillaci at Arsenal. Good with the ball on the floor, but will struggle with balls in the air. Jones will be the danger man
