Rumours that local bloke Georgie Ball has died in his flat . Georgie is/was a right character always drunk and singing in locals pubs when he is not banned. Its all a bit sketchy at the moment.

Am a member of Wolstanton.net forum and got email stating " Sad news for all or members! For everyone who knew George he was our local hero!" Guessing its the George you are talking about. No mention of cause of death or fire then. RIP George whoever you are.

Sad to hear this news. We gigged at some pub in Wolstanton (can't remember the name) a few years back, & George was in there. He was off his tits & was shouting & trying to dance. He came up to the stage after about every second song & was saying stuff to us, but we didn't know WTF he was on about! I tried to speak to him after the gig, just to say Ta for his support, but I think he just wanted to drink his beer. Only met him that once, but he made a lasting impression. R.I.P. George.

George was a regular in the Village Tavern where he had been drinking on the afternoon he died. I was in the Tavern on the night of the fire, it was horrible. Very Very sad George was a great old fella who always made me chuckle RIP George.
