I've just been watching the ESPN classic of our first home game against Villa and wondered why when Sky creamed themselves over that little mexican's flicked back header, did they not replay mama's last minute superbly executed header?
Mama has form for this as well, I'm sure he had a similar one in that fine double against Bristol City?

the reason they creamed over it was because it was man utd our goal had much more significance but its man utd at the end of the day

Great shout mate
Mama`s back heading skills are only surpassed by Dave Regis (anyone who went to Mansfield in the League Cup 1993 will know what I mean)

Sidibe had absolutely no idea where that header was going, let's be honest. That said, there's been far too much talk about Chicarito's(bloody hell) goal.

How about the back header away at Norwich?

What about Doobs? Every header he ever did was a back header... btw, if you really can't see why Chicharito's was better than Big Mama's, you're watching the wrong game.

To be fair I think mama was flicking the ball toasted goal with the hope it would be headed in by a team mate as his job was to attack the ball and flick it on.

Mama never back heads the ball,it just comes off a corner of his 50p head.

I don't see much difference between Mama's Bristol goal and Hernadez. Except that one appeared on match of the day and one didn't!

SidEbay has and always will, excel in backward play....there is no finer example as far as I can see.

However, I heard somebody on the TV (I think it was MOTD, can't be sure) say - "It was the best header I've ever seen".
Come on? How ridiculous a statement is that? Surely an "expert" on football has seen better headers than that?
Most over-rated goal ever.

Mama's best headed goal was that one against Leicester, when we won 3 - 2, think it was in season 2005/06.

Where as Mama put it in the wrong position as he normally does, to the joy of everybody connected with Stoke City.

Two players score identical goals, but one plays for a bigger club so it had 'class'. Kind of like the weekend where the Androgynous Mediocrity at Manchester United scored a jammy backheel described across the country as a 'wonder goal', while Richard Cresswell's almost identical backheeled strike for us on the same day was described on The Championship as a 'lucky deflection'.

Mama has done his own back header 3 times hasn't he?
Norwich, Bristol City and Aston Villa.
3 crucial goals from the big man!

Every goal Mama scores is crucial. Rare, but crucial.
Although as we usually only win by 1 goal, they would be.

I await a repeat performance from Hernandez. With Man Utd he will have enough chances, especially at home. I'll bet he never does a repeat performance. Pure flook.

I don't know who he was trying to flick it on to, you'd have to ask him, but I guarantee you this is what he said when asked by a reporter. I suppose he'd just be trying to get it closer to the goal for someone else to put away, without necessarily being aware whether there was anyone there or not. That's what most people would have done in that position & like Hernandez, most people don't have eyes in the back of their head. Unluckily for us he just fluked one, he admits he didn't mean it.

The only similarity between the two goals are that they came off the respective players heads - if you cannot see the difference in both the intent and the execution then you are either blind or blinkered.
