Sunderland 2-1 Stoke It will be interesting to see what effect their 5-1 mauling at local rivals Newcastle has on Sunderland. Steve Bruce has hinted he may start with Asamoah Gyan up front so they might have to change their system. Steve will have battered them in training, and the fans will let them know what they think, but one of the best ways to put something like that behind you is with a good win at home. Stoke are absolutely established in the Premier League and Tony Pulis has improved the squad. They are still very difficult to play against and were unfortunate against Everton and Man Utd when certain things went against them Verdict:2-1 Micheal Vaughan also went for a 2-1 Sunderland win FB news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/football_focus/9160535.stm

I reckon it could quite easily be a complete stalemate.
TP will want to shore up the defences and not concede whilst Blunderland will be riled up but wary.
A squeaky bum 1-0 for either side is probably realistic.

That's a perfectly reasonable prediction. I think I'd take a point, an unspoiled sheet would be lovely.

We're a side on the ropes, I fear Sunderland could really knock us out with a HUGE punch on Saturday.
I'd bite your arm for a 0-0.

Yep, I would kill for a point. I've almost forgotten what one looks like.

There is no way we are going to lose our 5th game on the trot! No chance! Honest.....
Which leaves the other options of a draw or a win, and for a change i think we will be on the receiving end of lady luck, and edge a very close game 1-0.

Our run of bad luck will turn around ....
4-0 win
1-0 Jones heads it against the post....but bounces off the goalkeeper and into the net.
2-0 A fantastic passing movement if finished off by Rory Delap, with a 30 yard volley
3-0 Turner makes a horrific 2 footed tackle that is so bad, no one ever even mentions shawcross/ramsy ever again. Wenger moans about Sunderland in every pre match interview ...oh and stoke penalty - Fuller scores.
4-0 Alla old trafford last week, tuncay goes down easily in the box and puts his hands on the ball, the ref says play on, tunny scores!
If Carlsberg did football matches....

I think we'll lose again.
I'd go with Lawro.

We need a point after 4 loses, so I reckon Tone will set his stall out for a draw and then if we are still in the game after 70 or so mins he may start to attack. I'd take 0-0 and what would be a very good point away from home.

A dead octopus has more idea about predictions. Why do we get so worked up about the ramblings of a numpty who only ever watches us play against the top four (and Liverpool).

dont see why losing 5-1 to Newcastle should have any less or more effect than Stoke losing the way they did to Everton, or ManU or Bolton or.........

i think we will see a very diffrent kj today he has a point to prove after being slagged off when he joined us it could work in our favour. even if they double upon kj then that leaves extra space for tunny to exploitcome on stoke 2-1 for us

I'd actually be happy with a repeat of last season. One of the most boring games in recent memory. But a clean sheet and a point is something we need at the moment.
