No, it was Halloween wasn't it? The arrival of the anti-christ?
How draining it is once again to take in the self staisfied visage of Gunnar Jizzshaton.

When he took off Gudjonsson at Walsall, the chants were "You don't know what you're doing". 8 years later, it's still the same.

After reading the horror stories from both Bristol City and Pompey fans, I was fearing the worst, but I had been impressed with how big and brutal his Gillingham team had looked when they took us to the cleaners. He wasn't the man I'd have chosen, but in hindsight there is no way that George Burley would have kept us up that season. (As much of a twat as he was/is, I reckon Quiterill would have done to be fair)
We looked a sad, pathetic outfit when TP took over, and we remained so for a few months after, until he'd had time to shape his side.
It was a brilliant achievement to keep us up that first season. Absolutely brilliant. Far more impressive than the bare facts suggest (we finished in exactly the same position we were in when TP took over).

www.footballforums.net/forums/showthread.php/30037-We-re-Stoke-we-re-a-f**king-joke!! Wonder where we'd be if Burley hadn't done a runner? This was quite mild at the time. Pity all the threads off the rivals board are in the cyber graveyard. They'd be mildly hilarious in hindsight Appointed Tony Pulis as new manager. As I said last night that's it for me. It's been a roller coaster 25yrs but our affair is now over (at least until this dickhead leaves). This may be a shit attitude but, judging by our fanzine message board, I'm not the only one.
Ask Bristol City, Bournemouth and Portsmouth fans what they think of hm. We are going back to D2 with him in charge I feel. I hope he proves me wrong I really do but I fear the worst for Stoke City
I agree with Delilah, enough is enough. I aswell won't be going to any more games until Pulis leaves, and nor will the majority of Stoke fans. This is the final straw, the club cannot continue to shit on it's fans in such a way and get away with it. We've put up with so much crap from the board over the years but this beats the lot. Supporter opinion is 99.9% against Pulis (we're even more against him than Ipswich were against Royle!) and there were still better candidates out there i.e. ANYONE!
He's left every club he's been to under a cluod and a court case, and been hated by every set of fans. He's a long ball merchant who sells the clubs better players on the request of the board, and from what other fans have said who are past victims of Pulis, his team selections are uninspiring to say the least. The only place he's had a bit of success at is Gillingham, and even their fans don't like him! I'd like to hope he will be a success, but this is one of those disasterous appointments that everyone KNOWS will be a failure, and how the board can't see this is beyond me or any other Stoke fan. It's like when Spurs appointed Christian Gross, every man and his dog knew he would be a disaster and so it proved.
Us supporters thinking of boycotting are in the majority at Stoke, and our reasons are entirely justified. take a look at the fanzine website, the most popular Stoke messageboard by far, stokecity.rivals.net to judge the overwhelming supporter opinion against Pulis, the anger the fans feel and some examples of Pulis **** ups from fans of his previous clubs. It makes very sorry reading indeed!
Stoke City, it's been good while it's lasted but this is the final straw. If this is how you want to run this club, I do not want to be a aprt of it
Of course it is the cheap way out! It wouldnt be Stoke City if it wasn't the cheap way out! Thats another reason why I'm so annoyed. This is the most dreadful appointment I could possibly have imagined! Check your PM's Mike for some more of my views on this!
My Walsall ticket for tomorrow has been burned, and my season ticket is sitting perilously close to the bin.
You have hit the nail on the head when you say cheapest option. The only reason we went for Burley I think is 'cos Ipswich are still paying him! I know what you are saying about not giving up but I (as well as everyone else) just feels so let down. We've been saying on the rivals board now for 3 weeks "Don't appoint Pulis". We know that officials from Stoke read the message board so they know what supporter opinion is yet they still appoint him. I think the Icelanders may have shot themselves in the foot BIG time now as I firmly believe the fans will now start a campaign to try and get them out. We need Phil Rawlins who is a lifelong Stokie and sold his company a few years back for something like £350 million to try and buy the club. I think he will be as devastated as us by this appointment. He has a 10% stake but is understandibly quite reluctant to invest more cash when he will not really have a say where it goes.
This is the final straw for the Icelanders. Visit our rivals site (the link in one of my previous posts) for full supporter opinion.
Phil Rawlins, the time is now.
GISLASON OUT, HIS CRONIES OUT AND COATES & HUMPHREYS OUT OUT OUT!
WE HAVE GIVEN YOU ENOUGH CHANCES, WE WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY MORE. GET OUT NOW BEFORE YOU KILL THIS CLUB.
RAWLINS IS THE MAN TO TAKE US FORWARD.
You must read the Bristol City article on the link I posted. I'd honestly say Waddle would be a better appointment! Not only is this guy inept, but it seems he's also a rip off merchant and takes cuts from transfer fees!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhhhhh what have you done Gislason?

Wow, even though I remember reading Bristol City fans' comments I didn't remember a reaction like that from the Stoke fans first time round, (although granted I had just arrived in Leeds for Uni and wasn't exactly glued to the oatcake) although I definately remember months of dreading him coming back the second time.

Not quite true. We had one year when we dropped a place under Pulis - from 12th to 13th, I think. To be fair, that season, Boskamp inherited a squad that only contained two players, a bicycle pump and Dave Brammers stem cells.........apparently. Different season Sheikh. We dropped one place under Bozzie but we also dropped one place under Pulis - the only two occasions we have failed to improve our position in 8 years.
