Get Wilson and Collins back in and Walters unquestionably needs to be dropped for Tuncay. In my view the starting XI should look something like...
Sorensen/Begovic Wilko Huth Shawcross Collins Pennant Wilson Whitehead Etherington Jones Tuncay
I think the defense needs a serious reshuffle...maybe even have the first season partnership of Faye and Shawcross...because something at the back isnt working at the moment....there is little discipline and we are leaking alot of very ordinary goals at the minute.
I also think its a dangerous game to persist with Walters in the starting XI. Have him as a squad man...but in the premier league i'm not sure he can offer quality of a high standard on a consistant basis. Jones/Tunny partnership is the way forward in my view with Ric off the bench.
Tonight needs to be a bit of a wake up call. We are not safe and we are not guarenteed premier league survival...we have to work for it and start playing some good stuff. United was a decent effort and we looked a different team when Tuncay came on and with Wilson in the middle who provided an option going forward...him and Whitehead together will form a good partnership leaving the option of Delap throws on the bench if needed.
Come on Stoke we are much better than this.

I just hope our defending improves dramatically or we will get murdered!

Can't see us winning this or the S'land game. Getting a bit anxious now.

i would go with: Tommy Collins Abdoulaye Shawcross Huth (prefer huth there than wilko) Ethers Wilson Whitehead Pennant Jones Tunny
but Pulis will go with: Tommy Collins Shawcross Abdoulaye Huth Ethers Whitehead Delap Pennant Jones Walters

I'd go with
Sorro Huth Ryan Abdy Collins Pennant Rory Deano Ethers Tuncay Kenwyne
Everton are very strong in the middle so I think Rory and Deano are a must.
Surely Tuncay has to be given a go after a few iffy showings from Walters offensively?

Sorensen Shotton (worth a try, can't get any worse than Huth and Wilko at right back) Huth Shawcross Collins Pennant Wilson Delap Etherington Tuncay Jones

sorro wilko huth ryan higgy pen delap wilson ethers jones tunny i hear collins is out for a few week Collins has been ok lately, I prefer Higgy so no issue from me at all if he plays. Wilson was ok in possession but wasn't convinced about him when we didn't have the ball. I'd still stick with the Rory/Deano partnership to allow the creative trio of Ethers, JP and Tunny to do their stuff.

He wasn't a player that convinced me but he has improved and his workrate is important. If we are to play our more expansive players then I think Rory and Deano could be vital.

Thing is in my view...i definitely reckon that you only need one player doing the dirty work....we cannot be totally reliant on two wingers doing all attacking work from midfield...for me you play Either Whitehead/Wilson Delap/Wilson then you combine the industrial work of the defensive mid with some quality on the ball from Wilson.

I get what you're saying but I think you'll automatically get more quality by having Tuncay playing on the hole and pulling some strings. Without Ric we haven't got anyone to work the channels so as long as we can get the ball to Ethers, JP and Tunny we'll be ok in my opinion.

Fair enough IF Tuncay plays because the great thing about him is that he has the ability to BRING the midfield into play...we dont really have another player who can do that...who actually drops so deep at times hes like a CM. Might sound repetitive on this board but he simply MUST PLAY.

We do look like we need a bit of inspiration at times, normally that comes from Ric but in his absence it seems obvious to turn to Tuncay.

sorro wilko huth ryan higgy pen delap wilson ethers jones tunny i hear collins is out for a few week I still prefer higgy to collins anyways, higgy looked loads better when he came on for the man you match, even looked a good attacking threat too. He's got much more of a presence than collins, don't think collins has even said anything on the pitch to his other defenders, just asks them if they've got anymore chud. So my team would be: ..................Sorro................ Huth.....Shawcross...Abdy....Higgy Pennant....Whitehead...Wilson...Ethers .....Tuncay......Kenny.............. Bench: Bego, Fuller, Whelan, Collins, Walters, Gudjohnson, Delap
