My housemate is a Toon fan-seems to think we have paid half a mil for the loan signing, and have first refusal on a transfer IF we achieve promotion, i have no idea where he has heard this, any thoughts? I will post more if i find out anything

no chance, that kind of fee would get him from august to may , I'd say a quarter of that would be fair

Behave son. Half mill for 6 games for a player who's barely played all season. I wouldn't of even bothered posting it.

My old housemate is a Manure fan, he knows nothing about football I'd suggest that is bollox tbh, a player who has struggled over the last few years. I'd say half a mill would represent a large chunk of any future fee, so to pay that up front just for 6 games and first option is crazy. Nugent.... It would questionably be justified with...

this is true we have paid £500k for him.......before people say bollocks it will all come out tomorrow!!! I'm going to say bollox on instinct here. Great signing he may be, half a fucking mill must be apart of a long term deal, so that if we chose to buy him we'd get him at a seriously knocked down price. How much would he be worth in a transfer? Maybe 1.5 (based on experience alone) Maybe the transfer market is more fucked up than i originally envisaged...

I would imagine it was six figure fee, but more likely to be £100k with another sum on top if (when ) we go up!

we were prepared to pay something similar for Nugent weren't we ? Allegedly so. Shola though, quality player he may be, isn't half the player Nugent is IMO

Be very much worth it though if we got promotion!

even if it is that much it's worth the gamble at this stage imo, will we ever be in a better position to get promotion again ? doubtful, not anytime soon anyway, it's essential we push the boat out to hopefully secure automatic promotion.

It is probably around £500,000, very believable. You know what Stoke are like with getting ripped off by clubs and agents.
It's money well spent at this stage either way. £500,000 for a possible £60m?
