I'm pleased at the moment too. 25% of the way top safety. BUT if something goes wrong at Bolton there will be people wanting Pulis out because it proves his methods don't work and if Walters doesn't wcore he should be dropped and killed etc.

Smile on my face again on Monday morning. Thank you TP and Mr Coates. Best time to be a Stoke fan since the early eighties. Bring on Utd.

My view on it is this.
As long as we continue to do what we have done over the last couple of seasons, we'll continue to bring in bigger and better players to the club. This will result in improved performance and results and will increase morale and attendances throughout the club.
We will have phases over the next few months/years that we'll be struggling for results and possibly battling at the wrong end of th etable which is where we as suppoters will play our part.
One thing I've learned is that Tony Pulis is a very good and stubborn manager who has the club in his heart. Coates respects the man and they both have along term plan which I'm sure they will fulfill (silverware and a return to Europe)
We can quite realistically beat Bolton away and go into the Man Utd game at home with a chance of beating them and going above them on points. We could also lose at Bolton and get thrashed by the scum, thats the unpredictabality of this league and the teams in it.
All I expected this season was for an improvement to the playing squad following the trials and tribulations of the likes of Beattie/Kitson etc. The whole Mole incident.
We've done that in bringing in better players. At one point leading up to transfer deadline day around 4:30pm I feared the worst for this season. But we've turned it around, we're on the up and my only other hope for the season was that we'd give those dirty red barstards a game this time. We can beat them at home this season and I would LOVE IT if we beat them.

It is the best we have seen at Stoke for about 30 years - and great to see too that its Liverpool's worst in those 30 years !

The last 30 years takes us back to 1980, so personally I would not only go that far but I'd go further! There has been no time in the last 30 years that have come anywhere close to how we are now. This is comfortabley the best time time to be a Stoke fan in 30 years. In fact you'd have to go back to the day the winds came to find a brighter era, and even then it wasn't THAT much brighter.

yes it's the best feeling in 30 years. bin going stoke since 1993 and ive seen SOME SHIT in my time, all them seasons in league 1, crowds of 8,000 in the old division 1, loads of managers coming and going, 7 nil defeat to birmingham (when they all trashed executive boxes and a stoke fan ran on the pitch when we conceded the 5th) etc etc etc, the people who moan don't know anything about our history, they are probably one of many of thousands who've turned up since we came up, very very healthy state of affairs at the club!

You have to go back 35 or 40 years to the early 1970s for a better feeling about being a Stokie. And those golden years from 1972 to 1975 came after a longer time to consolidate in the top flight that we have had this time around. We got promoted back into the First Division in 1963 and gradually improved the side but it was the early 70s before we really started motoring. The speed with which we have consolidated and started to look at the top half of the table has surprised even an optimist like me.
