4PM UPDATE: SIDIBE INJURY WORRY FOR PULIS Be the first reader to comment on this story
TONY Pulis's efforts to sign Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi this afternoon were bolstered by doubts over Mama Sidibe?s availability for Saturday's trip to struggling Sheffield Wednesday.
Sidibe is nursing a strained hamstring and Pulis admitted today: "He won't train today or tomorrow."
He added: "I thought he was one of our best players against Blackpool last weekend. And when we played at Watford you saw how much we missed him, especially when playing the ball back to front and trying to get players up the pitch."
With Salif Diao out and Leon Cort doubtful, Pulis added: "We've got to compensate somehow. It's very important that the players who are asked to perform do so to the best of their ability.
"This is where we get the niggles and everything else, so the back-up is very important." Stoke have requested a further 1,200 tickets for Saturday's game at Hillsborough after selling their initial allocation of 2,500.
Stoke fans making their own way to Hillsborough are urged to exit the M1 at junctions 33 or 34, not 35 or 36, because of long-term roadworks caused by last summer's floods.
