Are any other Stokies taking part or going to watch tomorrow? We're setting off at 5-30 in the morning as my wife is running it for the BHF (subtle as a sledgehammer, i know), if you could spare a pound or two to sponcer her, the link is at the bottom ;D ;D \/ \/ \/

Yes I was a fellow Stokie doing the run.
It's the first time I've done a competitive run and thoroughly enjoyed it. Managed to get in in just under 2 hours despite a blister giving me grief for the last 2 miles!
Stayed overnight at Durham Uni and was up nice and early to soak up the atmosphere.
Was looking out for Stokies but I think ever if there had been any I'd probably just have assumed they were a mackem.
Definitely looking to do it again next year.
How you get on Yorkshire?

Well done mate It wasnt me running, it was my wife who did it, i was on babysitting and support team duties She got 2 hours 42 minutes. I saw one lass who had run in a Stoke top. Ive been convinced to do my first run in january, only 5k but itll be the first proper sport ive done since i packed up playing rugby about 15 years ago. So hopefully i can move a few stone and not die on the way round

Four of us ran it. Me, my girlfriend, my sister and her boyfriend.
All Stokies but didn't run in any Stoke gear as we ran for Parkinson's charity.
Really enjoyed it. Atmosphere was great! Saw Steve Simonsen before the start but not sure if he ran in it or not.
Miles 8-11 were really tough!!

Nice to know there was a healthy Stoke contingent!
Yeah mile 10-12 was the killer for me. I was expected that once I got to 10 then I'd find it easier pyschologically as it was only 3 miles to go but for some reason the opposite happened and it became a struggle. Then with 1 and a half miles to go my plastic came off the blister on my little toe and I was in agony for a couple of minutes. Managed to get through it and then the last mile was ok although it seemed largely downhill.
Definitely looking to do it again next year and i'm another waiting for the London marathon ballot.
Thought of running in my Stoke shirt but think it may've chafed a little!
