I love a good stat and would love to know how much ground the players cover. I know it can be done and is in the Champions League as I saw the Barcelona stats the other night and they are what got me thinking. I would imagine the clubs do it but is this data available anywhere publically?

Don't clubs pay a fortune for the information?

no offense but why do you care how far players run? all players are told who they are to mark, or free roam ect .. if a player has ran more it might just be because other men are marking ect

Just to see if my pre conceptions of players working their balls match up with the facts. And I'm a very sad bastard and find stats about football very interesting!
