Regardless of whether or not we get promoted this season, I was just wondering if he has now been forgiven by those supporters like Ilford Dave/Coatesout2 and many others who were absolutely adamant that this time around things would be no different. ??? I know that there still many out there who still don't like him, and the manager too...(Old Stokie repeated this yesterday regarding Pulis)...and to be fair he his entitled to his opinion. I just can't understand,.. why given this complete rejuvenation of our fortunes and restoration of the 'feelgood factor' after 23 years,.. people can't celebrate the fact without 'muddying the waters'. We all make mistakes at times. !!

Personally, i wanted Pulis back. Mainly to get stability back into the club. I was sick to death of having a new manager each season. And as for Coates, people may not like him, but it's down to him we now fully own the brit, down to him we own the training ground, down to him we now have no debts. And majorly down to him that we've got the players in we have and kept players because he's forked out the wage bill. TONY PULIS' BARMY ARMY! ;D

Im fully behind Coatesy, I think what happened should be in the past and its nice to see that we are no longer a selling club and bringing in unknown Icelandic players in to replace others. The Icelanders would never foot the wage bill for some of the players we have brought in or are looking at. I think the Coates-Pulis partnership is working wonders. Would we of been top of the league if the Icelanders and BosChump were still in? I doubt very much. Well done Coatesy and Tone on a fantastic job so far, may it long continue! ;D

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Coatsey a two-bit hamburger salesman the first time he owned the club? With no real money to spend?
I think fair play to him that he came back once he made his money - personally I wouldn't invest any amount of money in a football club unless my wealth was measured in billions of quid

Unless we get promotion...his legacy will be.....'chairman of SCFC who screwed up the finances of a new stadium build to the detriment of the team who were relegated and have since spent all their recent history in the lower leagues'...

To add to what dupree said
While no one can deny Coates MK II is an improvement, I think anyone with a memory will also remember the person under whose stewardship we ceased to own the stadium, training ground and became a lower league club. If under Coates Mk II we return to the premiership then he will have restored the club to where it was before he took charge so I won't be signing the petition for sainthood for PC just yet.....

I didn't want TP back but unlike some I was happy to give him another chance (though his final year of his first stint had put me right off seeing him back)
By and large the football has been pretty good this season, though our last few games have been very nervy and less than attractive!
As for PC I absolutely didn't want to see him again after his previous tenure BUT when push came to shove and the Icelanders had threatened to settle for (at best) mid table, he was our only option. Mainly cos of the golden share!!!
However yet again we had little option other than to give him a chance and just like TP he seems to have exceded my best hopes. Long may it continue! PC could end up a Stoke City hero and that would have seemed laughable a mere two years ago.

I'll never alter my feelings towards Peter Coates, memories are just toooooo short as far as some fans are concerned - 'nuff said!
