Yet another manager and team benefitting from route one football...the big hoof to Didier Drogba no less in the match against Arsenal. It does work you see...as CHELSEA proved. The difference is that they have Anelka alongside Drogba ....whereas using this analogy to describe our tactical frailties one should insert Fuller in Drogbas position ,and Sidibe in Anelka's.Whilst the former comparison may be conceivable the latter is most definitely not. I think this is a very poignant but suitably simplistic description in this long running argument that many posters have problems understanding or coming to terms with. You see...When playing two strikers up front it is reasonable to assume that they are both capable of hitting the back of the net on a regular basis. This is the case at Chelsea, but not so at Stoke....some preferring to use the convenient excuse that Sidibe is an attacking midfielder.Well , o'k but if that is the case should he still not have the ability to shoulder some of the responsiblity in the goal scoring stakes..? Is Ronaldo a striker or an attacking midfielder..? I know it is ridiculous to label Ronaldo and Sidibe in the same pedigree stable, but the argument/principle is still the same.! The only quandary is who should we play instead of Sidibe.? I thought that this was why Bothroyd was brought in.... ???
