???Im probably gonna get nothing but grief for this post, but to be honest, all this moaning about our team, OUR TEAM is complete crap.
If someone said to me last August that by late March, Stoke would be sitting top of the Championship, be it by one point, I'd would of checked them into a nut house, because lets face it, nobody would have expected us to be up there.
The crux of the matter is WE ARE TOP. Okay okay, we may not be playing great football at the moment, but other than Hull City, neither is anybody else and results seem to be happening. Brizzle are having a blip at the moment and may slip out of the running. Watford are hanging on in there and Brazil are stuttering all over the place.
People moaning about how we play, whats the problem?? it may not be pretty football, but we are grinding out results. Fooks sake, I was disappointed with the draw yesterday but I would rather a point than losing at home. (Brazil 1-4 Leicester). The boys have put in a tremendous effort this season to be where they are, they know what they got to do, but unfortunately so do other teams. Mainly ones fighting for their lives.
Stoke are not and probably never will be a team who go and and destroy a team 5-0, when it happens on the odd occasion its a real treat. Last season's 5-0 win against Norwich was fantastic to be at. I just cannot see why some fans criticise us, even though we are top and have our own destiny in our own hands.
Fans need to get behind the boys 120% because we all know how critical it is. The fans at the Brit each week get behind the players, but we seem to have a small percentage on here who STILL are not happy. What do you expect really guys? Kaka to sign?? ronaldinho to be spotted at the Brit?, or fuck it lets get in a relegation scrap!?. No chance. The whole team should be rewarded with the Championship's top prize this season and I for one would love to see the mighty Potters shut the moronic press up and take the title.
There is no point in criticising players. As fans we should be behind them regardless. Mama gets it in the neck a lot and I admit, I have been one to criticise him in the past, but the guy, love him or hate him, is an integral part of our setup, it must be working if we are top surely?, I've learnt to stop bemoaning about our team, so why cant others?
Cresswell on the wing, some people hate the fact he is there, thats up to Tone. He wants him there then thats how it gotta be surely? We know it doesn't really work out, but we are still top.
I in some ways can see why people moan at first, but after every match someone has to have a pop at something, whats the point in that?
The team and Tone need every Stokie behind them at this point of the season, and people who just want to criticise everything surely cannot call themselves real fans. No matter what happens this season, I for one and fooking proud of what my beloved Stoke City have given this season and long may it continue.

I'm totally behind the team and manager Dan, and I'm delighted with how the season has gone.
However, current performances are not good enough, and it's more harmful to bury our heads in the sand and pretend everything is rosy than to look at the truth, which is that, when it really matters, we are simply not performing. Yesterday was a game that a team serious about going up should win, and we were fairly dire. The same is true of the Burnley game.
Do you really think we can keep getting away with these dodgy performances?

Blackpool and Burnley were must wins, I just cannot fathom as to why even after a win, some fans give it in the neck to Tone and the players. They know they were pretty poor yesterday, and with the suspensions we have or have lost in the previous games, it may have disrupted the team. My point is, we all know Stoke aren't playing well, luckily neither are our rivals, but now is not the time to criticise the teams efforts surely?

I agree about the people who seem to think we should win every game 5-0 and have a divine right to be promoted (that's why I don't listen to the fuckwitted bagheads who ring in to **** and Grumble anymore).
I think though Dan, that most fair-minded Stokies are delighted with the team and manager's efforts up to now. It's just that we can't keep turning a blind eye to our stumbling form, which is threatening to derail us. We can't rely on our rivals fucking up for the rest of the season, and we really need to step up and start winning games again.

I agree again rob, the post is not a personal attack, its just pure confusion from my part. Any luck the boys will come good again, I am sure they will. Haha, when have Stoke ever done anything easy eh?

it really is poor at the moment. you can see the nervousness in the players and hear it from the crowd. we need to sing our way through 90mins so we and the players can enjoy our situation instead of cacking ourselves.
i was sure that being top of the league would be more fun than it seems at the moment

All that space just to say "but we are still top"!
People aren't moaning because we play ugly, aimless football or because we haven't signed Kaka ( as if Tony would know how to use him anyway? Anyway a skillfull pacy winger in the Ledley or Hoolahan bracket would have been more than enough to bring a bit of variety into our game) The Pulis way has got us to the brink of the Premiership but the worry is that the negative aspects of the "Pulis way" will keep us in this division.
I won't try and speak for everyone else but certainly what I am personally experiencing is a crisis of faith (on Easter Sunday as well! ). I can see a scenario where Wets Brazil and Hull will overtake us, we will slump into the play offs playing badly and with low confidence and our best chance of getting promotion for years will evaporate. Unfortunately if "getting behind the lads" was all that it needed that would be fine but anyone can see that if we can't recapture that swagger, drive and power in the next couple of games we are fooked. Only Pugh demonstrated that real desire yesterday and that's worrying. Hopefully the return of Liam will bring back that passion.
I don't need any lessons in being a "real fan" from you! I'm as supportive of the team on match days as anyone and I've NEVER boo'ed the team or individual players but expecting fans to happy clap a performance like that yesterday isn't being "a real fan" it's being a mug!

yes but from the start the atmosphere in the crowd was quiet and people seem to put more effort into moaning and shouting when things go wrong and not getting behind the team vocally from the first whistle
