Yesteday we missed a perfect opportunity to start to pull clear of the pack. We looked jaded, tired and generally out of sorts. Infact we have not looked on top form for the last 5 matches or so. I assume that yesterdays performance was down to the fact we had our best 3 championship players out through suspension.
When we look around at the teams we are competing against at the top they are doing the same, which is why Hull have steamed into 3rd.
Are we there because we are currently the best team in the Championship or because the other teams are dropping more points than us, it feels like the latter and we are the best of a poor championship bunch , no one team has been able to pick up the baton and run away with the title yet.
Despite the fact that we missed a real opportunity yesterday and by the start of the second half we were without 5 first team regulars, it's all still in our own hands.
Looking at the table on the face if the teams win their games in hand then we will slip into 3rd, but West Brazil still have to play Watford on the 12th of April and Watford travel to Hull next week, so again we are still top of the pile and it's all still under our control, but we need to start playing more positively we are there to be knocked off, other teams playing us will be treating the games as a cup final because we are top, that was the case yesterday...
So lets pick up the baton and start to steam towards the finish line, it's there for the taking, we've played poorly and hit the top of the table, imagine where we could be if we start to put the performances in!!!

Spot on TS. Whatever we want to say about this poor run of six games, we're still top and it's STILL in our own hands. We have just got to snap out of this form and get our act together.
A win yesterday would have put us three points clear and that's what is so frustrating for me - we could have been romping clear by now.

What if everyone else would've won , and we would've won too, we would've been in a WORSE position, as it is bristol gained 0 points and we gained ground on them.
Everyone else, yesterday, would've been saying the same thing. "stoke drew", IF we would've won, this could've happened.
Fact is, the ROUND of results went for us.

SIOCH,
That's one way of looking at it. Another way is that every other team had a tougher fixture than us and we were the only ones playing at home.
We made one point on Bristol City but lost two to Hull City, who are now third, one win behind us and with a better goal difference.
The long and short of it is that it is still in our own hands but that we have simply got to play better than we have been doing. There's no way someone won't take advantage if we carry on playing like we have been doing.
Two weeks in a row now we've had a wonderful opportunity to pull well clear and we've squandered it. We can't keep on doing that.

There are no "tougher" fixtures in this league though are there Anybody can beat anybody.... Once Fuller and Lawrence come back , we will be OK. It's odds on that we will beat Sheffield and bristol now though

One of West Brom's games in hand is Wolves away so it isn't going to be easy for them to pick up all 6 points - especially seeing as they are wank at the moment!
