Lets face it the media in general , opposition supporters who we have failed to lie down and die for in the past 2 seasons, and sadly some elements of our own support, have been hovering like vultures for a while now waiting for the first opportunity to kick this club while its down and return us to the obscurity where they consider a small club from a run down town belongs. All I see on this board at the moment is people queueing up to give them the pleasure of seeing this happen. Endless criticism of a management team that has done so much for us, abuse and derision of players who have got us where we are, and the general 'self -destructive' air that has existed in so many clubs supporters that have had a couple of seasons in the Prem and seem to have forgotten what its like to play in a 3/4 empty stadium against teams who dont have a single player you have ever heard of. Opinions are great and ideas on the way forward are really interesting but if we could do it in a way that still displayed a bit of belief in what we have already achieved and showed a bit of unity in the face of a disaproving football world that would be so good. We are Stoke and we dont have a lot going for us in the Premier League other than our loyalty and support for each other.

Good post, sadly there seems to be a huge contigent of stoke fans who are fickle wankers. If the current team and management are so shit, they can't have seen too many Stoke teams of the recent past.

Too right. We are only two games in and already the team and the management have been slagged off to the hilt by a number of fans.
We are in danger of imploding if we don't stick together. We don't have any divine right to win every game. The second half performance yesterday was worthy of us getting something. On another day we would have got a point or maybe won the game if we'd taken our chances. The season is over 38 games not the first few.
It seems to me that a couple of seasons in the Premier League in which we have probably overachieved have raised expectations to the stage where a few of us are being unrealistic about what we expect.
I dread to think what will be posted on here next week if we lose at Chelsea and are last on 0 points after 3 games.
I honestly think that we will be okay - Walters looked promising on yesterday's display and I think Jones will be a handful for a lot of defences in this league when he is fit.
I just hope that we as fans do our bit to get behind the team and have a bit of respect for each other. Yesterday there were supposed Stoke fans near me that were arguing and swearing at each other due to differences in opinions over who they thought the manager should be bringing on/taking off.
You never know we might even sneak a point at Chelsea next week.
Cheers
GB

I think most people were proud of how we played in the second half and most people respect the manager's achievements.
Even if we finished in the top six however, playing Huth at right back and Rory wide right would still be idiotic and I'm all for fans pointing it out to Pulis until the fucker finally listens.

Agreed ... after all it's just a bunch of web ***** chatting on an internet messageboard isn't it? The general feeling inside the stadium was one (as Sheikhy has said) of pride for that second half display - I certainly don't think the players left the pitch, thinking there was a lack of unity from the supporter base.

Yesterday's game, particularly the 2nd half was really enjoyable.
Foy disallowing Walter's goal was the sting in the tail

We are in danger of imploding if we don't stick together. The manager making snide sideswipes at one of his players on national radio is hardly setting an example though is it?

Those that remember Hudson, Greenhoff, Banks et al, the suffering of watching us play the likes of Rotherham, Chester, Darlington et al for more than 2 decades of abject misery and thinking we will never get back, will support the club and the steady progrss being made. These whingers and moaners are doing the club a disservice. Need to stick together and adopt the siege mentality we had in the 1st 2 seasons.
