Its such a great song and I have been singing this for at least 25 years now. In walkabout on sat in Wolverhampton a slower version was introduced - brilliant.
So the question is where and when did it start and what does it actually mean ?
Who will buy my bread, long ones short ones some as big as your head - it barely makes sense does it? or does it?

It's about bread and goes on to describe the sizes of the baked products via an informal comparison to the human head.
here we go again

It has morphed though.......
Used to be "Bread, Bread who will buy my bread? Some big, some small some as big as my head"

I love the bread song but yet again it seems to be one that has different versions...does it end with "some as big as your head" or "some as big as my head"??
Best video of it on youtube by the way:

I thought it was a protest song.
