Trevor Kettle loves giving dubious last minute penalties doesn't he?

Class goal from a player who could easily have played Prem football but for his injuries

How we could do with a fit Johnny Eustace now He would walk in our side as things stand. Great player, just a shame injuries got the better of him whilst at Stoke.

Oh to have a fit SJE in our midfield. A man who can actually pass to his own player.

That's 2 crackin goals he's scored in 2 games! Both from corners and around the same area as well Stoke could definitely do with him now!

Come on, let's not get misty-eyed here about SJE. I loved the bloke to bits but he was struggling badly for us towards the end of his time here.
I'm delighted that he's found a new lease of life with Watford though. After all he went through with us, he deserves it.

cracking goal. sje was a decent player for us. but to say he is prem quality is a bit far off reality. he did struggle to control games against average championship sides, no offence but a couple of good goals doesnt make you a prem player.
also, thinking back to sje's partner in crime, he used to have darel russell doing the dirty work for him. so this alloweds sje to save his engine for going forard and his time on the ball. we could do with a similar partnership now.

He'd have ben 50 yards further back for us.

Bit harsh, in his last few games for us he was playing in CM with a woefully unfit Delap, which can't have been easy. It would have been interesting to have seen how well he could have played with a water carrier alongside him. For what it's worth I don't think he is any worse than Whelan, although neither are probably Prem standard.

The Eustace we sold was an absolute shadow of the player who arrived at the club and one we absolutely needed to get rid of.
Was a fine player before his injury nightmare though and that is a sensational goal.

The Ricardo Fuller at Pompey and Southampton is not the player he is at Stoke. A Watford fan I know says he's one of their better players but not a world beater.

He was good but reality check. He did play in the Prem and if he was the player some claim then we wouldn't have landed him. Some moan re us linked with CCC players and say they wish we still had him. The 15 million comment made me laugh. Good player, bad luck with injuries but be realistic.

i have a mate at watford who says he is the best player at that club since he signed.
im not saying he would start every game in the prem for us but is better than pugh, diao, tonge, cresswell, soares, amdy faye and arguably whelan - all players who have played midfiels for us in the prem.
i think when we swapped him for whelan, whelan was a good prospect, i just dont think whelan has progressed that much. i was surpised we got rid to be honest we were pushing for the play offs and obviously got promoted and for the wages and transfer fee we gained we could have kept both. with out wishing to turn this into a whelan bashing thread he could have learned a lot from sje
sje having already played prem football has the better football brain and the first two seasons could have done a job for us
