I know they're not, mathematically. I also know we could dispense with the need for them ;D
Here are 4 scenarios for the next 7 games:
1 We carry on with our season form and get 79 pts, surely enough this season (might even get auto if no-one hits top form now)
2 We repeat our season's worst 7 consecutive results (the era of the home defeats), giving us 7 points and a final total of 74, historically poor for play-offs but this season probably enough.
3 We repeat our season's best (with all the home wins + Wolves), get 18 points and romp home as champions on 85
4 We carry on our recent, indifferent, form, pick up 9 points as we have from the last 7 and get to 76 - again deffo play-offs this season.
There is of course a scenario 5 where we 'do a Stoke' but overall how confident are you that we are looking at minimum of play-offs now?

I think it'd need a bloody catastrophic disaster such as all our first 11 breaking there legs simultaneously to not be in the play offs!

Isn't that pretty much what happened in 74-75? We have been lucky with injuries this season, apart from (!) Matteo. Maybe they will all come at once?
