Seems to be the way they're going to line up tomorrow.
So, it seems, even with Abdy out of the picture, the chosen bit of tinkering is to leave Huth at right-back, and switch Higgy into the middle - meaning Collins plays and Wilko doesn't.
Seems a bit of a baffler, and you wouldn't bet against Huth totting up 30+ games at RB this season if this is a sign of things to come?

Huth is wasted at right back, his best position is at CB

IMO should be:
Higgy (LB) - Ryan - Hoot - Wilko (RB)
Collins shouldn't make the bench.

I agree...
It has to be....
Wilko Huth Shawcross Higgy
BY far our best and most balanced back four.

Higgy (LB) - Ryan - Hoot - Wilko (RB) That is our best back 4 but I can't see us starting with that tomorrow.

TP loves defenders who can defend. He loves battlers who are prepared to put their bodies on the line to block shots.
He also appears to have a soft spot for Danny Collins.

Whats the problem with Faye? He's not the same player as he was the first season in the Prem. Note: I should probably change my avatar

I've not spoken to a single Stokey who doesn't agree that our back four should be Wilko-Huth-Shawcross-Higginbotham.
And for a spell last season it seemed that TP had also realised this. Then all of a sudden in pre-season Wilko has dropped off the face of the earth.
I don't even think we need a new RB as an urgency although would like to see a LB who is more comfortable on the ball than Higgy.
RB Wilko CB Huth CB Shawcross LB New
Bench Faye Bench Higgy
Squad Collins Squad Shotton
This'd be my first choice.

And then by the end of the window:
Salcido / Figgy (LB) - Ryan - Hoot - Maicon (RB)

It seems everybody agrees on our best defence, except for one man. Collins is hopeless and Huth is a liability at right back. So frustrating.

Well if TP's going to pick Huth as captain then surely he can't play him out of position on a regular basis, it would be ridiculous :S

Wilko, Huth, Ryan, Higgy
That LB spot really is a weakness.
Right backs not much better. Ideally we should be starting with Higgy on the bench as a CB replacement. Can't be playing these guys out of position.
If Figgy's a no go then we should go for Konchesky, should be well within budget at around 2.5-3m.

I thought Pulis made a bit of a tit of himself on goals on sunday when commenting on the England team and having players in their best positions......he obviously coudn't see the irony of his remarks

We badly need a new RB as i think Wilko should only be back up. He gives 110% but IMO isnt good enough for regular 1st team football at Prem level. That said, i hope he starts against Wolves at the expense of Collins with Huth and Ryan at CB and Higgy LB.

I think Wilko has proved over the past two seasons that he is up to Premier League standard. Pulis likes defenders and Wilko can defend well. He's not good with the ball but to say he's not good enough after the past two seasons is a bit daft.
