In keeping with the SCFC tradition of pi$$-poor PR, is anyone aware of any updates on the status of the new training ground?
Bearing in mind that it's costing £5m and due to open 'in time for the start of the season' this must be near completion - an announcement or some pics would be good to see?!!

There have been monthly updates and loads of pics of the training ground on the Stoke Facebook page - not sure why there hasn't been more news on the main website though.

Think Pulis mentioned 2 weeks in his Sky appearance at the weekend

Yes TP said two week to the opening and it has cost at least 50% more than what hsa been suggested, above. And still improvements to come.
With permission now granted, there will be floodlights, next season, and two astroturfs laid. We're getting there ...........

I've heard there's gonna be a shooting range for people to try n kill abdy... Bit of a waste of money. Apparently Mama has already been permanently banned to keep local residents safe

Opening for use a week on Monday (23rd August) apparently. The main access road won't be done till shortly after when two Portacabin changing rooms are moved and re-established.
The first asto-turf pitch complete with floodlights ready by September although the contractors working on there reckon they will beat the "idle bastards" working on the main building ;D

It'd be nice if we had some kind of big splash on it on the off. site to see what the finished building looks like, inside and out

Was down there for the press conference last Thursday.
The main building is in use; press rooms, changing rooms, reception etc.
Still temporary fences up outside, and work to be done on the roads.

The Training Ground looked well 'smart' when Sky did a little article the other evening (Pennant arrival). Has the Club released any pictures yet showing inside etc?. Would be well worth the Club doing a little web video for us so we can see more.

They have released pictures on their face book pages throughout the building process.

Saw a few months ago in the building process but seen as they we're making a big song and dance about it, they haven't done much to publicise it. Or perhaps its not finished yet?

I presume there will be a big official "opening" once the outside has been tidied up and the access roads are surfaced - with possibly a bit of planting to tart things up a bit?

Is any of it still owned by Michelin or all Stoke City owned? Not been there for a while but spent many an evening after work at Michelin playing squash and sinking a few pints (not at the same time obviously).

I think Michelin only own the original club building and the car park for that building. All the playing fields, the new access roads, the new carpark and the new building are owned by Stoke City.

I hope the club offer the Fans a tour of the facilities at Clayton Wood for around a fiver each and all the money helps the running of the place or to the academy because im sure plenty of fans would be interested as i know i certainly would be.
Offer it Stoke to the fans and make a few quid along the way as football fans in general would be interested.

I've heard there's gonna be a shooting range for people to try n kill abdy... Bit of a waste of money. Apparently Mama has already been permanently banned to keep local residents safe If it wasn't for Mama, there would be no Prem for us and no new training facilities. Seriously, I was invited in last week and I have to say it is looking very swish. Money no object on the internal finishes. It beats getting changed in a hedge like those of us have had to do for years before playing Sunday football ;D As others have said this is only part of the improvements.

I presume it is for afternoon midweek reserve matches which are to be played there and which, in the winter months, will go on beyond the time when it gets dark. We have opted out of the Premier reserve league and will now play friendlies at Clayton Woods.
