www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_6296465,00.html Keane expects transfer talks to continue next week although he is eager to hang on to Walters, who has scored 30 goals in 123 league starts for Ipswich since signing from Chester in January 2007. "There's usually fun and games with negotiations, particularly with certain clubs and particularly with certain managers, so I'd expect this one to drag on a little longer," added Keane As much as I detest Roy "lucky heather peddler" Keane the comment does make you wonder what the fuck goes on with our transfer negotiations ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

What does a £12.5 million bid for Remy say about our transfer policy.
I'd say we're ambitious but cautious and keen to get the best possible deals we can. Sometimes it may mean we miss out on players but it's usually for the best.

It says we have a figure that we think a player is worth and we tend to stick close to that figure. Maybe if Keane had a similar policy he would not spend so much and achieve so little. ;D

It's called getting the best deal for your club and not pissing money up the wall for the sake of it. It's like any business transaction, you have a price you'd like to pay and a price you're prepared to pay and the rest is negotiation. People are reading way too much into every little rumour/quote going, roll on the season.............

Just for the record I hope Roy Rosie Lee pisses Stoke off so badly they tell him to stick The Irish B player where the sun casts no shadows

I'm sure the lad would rather stay at Portman Road and be watched by in-bred spazztards who are paying a grand a season for the privilege.
btw - I hope we don't sign him. Seen a bit of him and he is nowt better than what we have already. File under 'Ledley'.

I actually like Roy Keane, he speaks his mind and he there is saying in no uncertain terms that we are a fucking nightmare to do business with, but then that's something we knew all along.
The worrying thing is, this deal is for a championship player and from a championship club, I'm surprised we ever sign any fucker tbh.

What does this say about Stokes Transfer Policy
It says that we are one of a very very few clubs that are well run and don't throw money around like confetti to try and buy a cheap fix!
To do things our way may take a little longer and we might suffer one or two minor knock backs but the alternative is we could pay top dollar for players and pay them top wages to ensure we get where we want! Leeds and Pompey tried this method and don't forget Cardiff were 'blowing us out of the water' three or four years ago! Slowly slowly catchee monkey

Course we didnt do that with Sonko, Soares, Tonge et al did we? oh wait a second ..yes we did. The first and second seasons in the Prem we spent enough money to ensure we stayed up. It worked You can look at the details and say this bit wasn't as good as that bit BUT we gambled aboutten million or so each year and each year we won and won BIG! If I could be arsed I'd write out the names (and prices) of flops that have been signed by ManUre Liverpool or Chelsea and they would total several hundred million pounds worth on players that never so much as kicked a ball! So frankly you can go roll your boring little eyes in your boring little world all you want cos I guess some people are born miserable and boring, luckily for me (and most people) I tend to see the bright side, you should try it! You might find it helps to improve you

Hopefully it says we are not prepared to pay silly money for average players. Average players like Tongue, Davies, Soares, Kitson, BT? Didn't pay silly money? Yes, and how much will we get back for our wise investments? Lucky to get half! Very, very lucky to wipe our face on Olifanjana's transfer. Only PB could be that daft!!!

You post then throw your toys out when someone doesnt agree with you? You make assumptions about people being boring and miserable when you dont know them from a bar of soap. Psychic are you? You are so wound up you need a late night massage of your ego. Me, i was sitting in my villa with a bud far from boring FAR from miserable catchin up on the Oatie watchin the Sun drop in the sky while you enjoy the delights of Crewe that got you so wound up?
